Beware! We visited this place yesterday and ordered their signature moignets, along with two coffee lattes for me and my wife. The ordering process was simple—we placed our order at the counter with a cashier. So, when I ignored the credit card machine's programed prompting tips, since it was just a counter service with no table service.

Seems now that may have ruffled some feathers, as I saw the cashier look twice at her order screen -- which in hindsight may have been the tip. Since here’s where things took a turn: a) the latte came well after we were done eating the moignets b) I got seriously sick from the latte. My wife and I drank separate lattes —interestingly, the one they slid to her was fine, but the one pushed toward me gave me food poisoning within minutes. She’s very sensitive, and I’m rarely affected like this -- so when I felt nauseous and bloated halfway through the cup, I knew something was wrong. I couldn’t finish it, and sure enough, the rest of the day was downhill from there.

To be clear, I hadn’t eaten anything for about four hours prior, and I sanitized my hands right before eating. The moignets were fine, so it clearly came from that coffee latte.

If you’re someone who doesn’t like being strong-armed into tipping for counter service, beware. And if you decide not to tip or otherwise disturb their team —well, just hope your drink is safe. We certainly won’t be...
