Great Late-Night Eats in Las Vegas

Great Late-Night Eats in Las Vegas
Dallas MDallas M
The last time (which happens to be my first time) visiting this restaurant was on 17 Jul 2020. I recalled the magnificent experience that my family and I had, and how I was eager to try it again soon. However, I didn't think it would take ~4.5 years to try it again, but what can I say...Las Vegas (LV) has so many restaurants to try (and especially countless amounts of Korean BBQ restaurants). Well, my family and I revisited this restaurant on 9 Jan 2025 and was shocked to learn that the restaurant name had slightly changed (previous name was just HANU Korean BBQ). Regardless, name changes typically mean new owners, which equals a must-try, to see if you receive the same if not a better experience. When we walked in, the host asked us if we had a reservation. I was a little annoyed at myself for not doing so because it's common practice to make reservations at LV restaurants. But to be fair, most Korean BBQ restaurants don't accept reservations, so I just presumed the same for this business. But the host was awesome (I didn't get his name); he got us a seat anyway, even though the restaurant was packed. Although, I can understand why we got seated right away because we were escorted to the table closest to the entrance. It was one of those cold LV nights (and windy), so I suspect no one wanted to sit by the door as it constantly opened and closed. Regardless, I was thankful to get seated right away because we were starving. The service here is nothing less than outstanding, as evident by the restaurant host. Our servers (Gabriel and Elibrada), did a phenomenal job that evening. They were highly attentive, friendly, and very efficient. For our food, we opted for Option B, which was plenty enough for us to choose from. Specifically, we ordered the Beef Brisket, Pork Belly, Spicy Pork Belly, Premium Marinated Short Ribs L.A. (Galbi), Bulgogi, Spicy Tofu Soup, Mandu (Gyoza), Egg Rolls (Spring Rolls), and Fish Cake Tempura. Everything, and I mean everything, was extraordinary. I was slightly bummed that the "spicy" pork belly wasn't as spicy as I was hoping for...but I know I could add things to it to make it spicy. That Fish Cake Tempura was awesome - it reminded me of those shrimp chips in a bag. The banchan was superb! This is the first restaurant I've experienced where you get to grab your own banchan from a (salad) bar. This is a unique, yet efficient process because you're grabbing only the items you want to try. I know at other Korean BBQs, some customers don't even entertain the idea of trying certain banchan - this eliminates that. The quality of their kimchi was bar none. This restaurant is definitely in my top 5 (maybe even top 3) Korean BBQ restaurants of all time...guaranteed top 3 in LV for me. I also discovered what the "168" means in the restaurant's name (brand) because I was puzzled by it when I first saw it. Basically, it means "their meat is wet aged for 168 hours"...this is according to one of their signs I read in the restaurant. Well, I'm assuming it's referring to the meat and not anything else. I mean, I guess the concept can apply to kimchi? But whatever... The prices are very reasonable; I especially commend this restaurant for their continued support to the active men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that. If you're visiting and staying on the LV Strip, this restaurant isn't too far away from the center of the Strip; meaning, grab a ride share or taxi and go experience some great food and service. If you're anywhere else in the LV/Summerlin/Henderson areas and haven't tried this place yet, I'm sorry, you're truly missing out. I highly recommend this restaurant. Note: Make a reservation (though not required).

My friends and I sat down at 11:00pm and was gonna order the all you can eat Premium Hanu Special for $32.95 each. We didn't get any server or any help for 15minutes. A female staff came by after 15minutes to ask if we had a server yet and we reply no we haven't. She went to the back kitchen area and spoke out loud "table 11 need a server". We finally got a server at 11:25pm getting us water and asking us what we want to order. The service was very bad at the beginning that we decided to show how much we are disappointed by only tipping 5%. Later on maybe 10minutes afterwards a male staff member (maybe a team leader or manager) came over to us and ask how the service was for us. My friend told him the truth that we were disappointed because we felted like we weren't getting server at all which is true. After that the service improve by a lot. The service improve so much and that male staff member truly wanted us to have a good experience that we decided to change the 5% tip to 15%. The food here is good and the Hanu sampler dish was plated beautifully. I will try to visit this restaurant one more time before I leave Las Vegas. If the service is a lot better next time will change to 5 star if the service is bad like last time will lower it to 2 stars. Change to a 5star that mean the service was better. More like a 4.5star service but since I can't give half star giving it 5star. Honestly it whoever that manager that came over and ask us how we were doing that make this a great place. I really felted that he care about our dining experience at the restaurant and wanted us to enjoy it.

The food was great. I especially enjoyed their shrimp tempura and their Calimari, and their Bogolgi was excellent. I also like that they leave water at the table for you to refill your cups yourself. There was one dish that was not good. One of the servings of garlic beef was so salty, we had to dip it in water to make it editable, but I'm assuming that it have been an accident because it was our 2nd order, and the 1st order seemed fine.

But the service was abysmal. Ordered all of our food within the allotted 90 minutes, but afterwards when we were just trying to get their attention to order water, the server tells us "No" assuming we wanted to order more food. But then we explained and they got us water. Then when my family member was trying to ask something, the server walks away as he is asking, but turns around once she realized he was talking to her and the pokes his shoulder and asked, "what do you want?" The manner in which she did this felt somewhat rude. Then as we were cooking the last of the meat we were brought within the designated ordering period, we were told they are closing in 5 minutes. We indicated that we were trying to cook the food. It's not as if we were taking our time. The cooking plate constantly had food cooking on it and again all of our food was ordered in the ordering period. Rather than simply giving us the time to finish the food like a normal restaurant would, the staff simply told us we didn't need to finish it. I'm assuming they said this because they just wanted us to leave, but honestly we ordered the food because we wanted to eat it. It was Bolgogi. I had been looking forward to eating it, and when they said we didn't have to eat it so we could go, I was annoyed that they were trying to rush us out when I just wanted to eat the food they brought us in the allotted period. It was ridiculous. If they didn't have time to serve us, they should not have seated us. If they seated us, that should mean they are willing to allow us to eat for the full period, which is important for an All you can eat restraunt that employs a time limit. Otherwise it would be unfair being that what you are paying for is a time period to eat all you can/want to eat.

With not one, but multiple instances of rudeness that frankly became more and more apparent. It is hard to recommend this place.

Don't get me wrong, their food was great, but if we could have, we probably would have left no tip or something very minimal, but unfortunately they automatically charge gratuity for a party of 6, so we were forced to leave a 19% tip regardless of their horrible, rude service. At least some of the tip probably going to some of the kitchen staff who definitely...

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!

Delicious Korean BBQ in Vegas are a dime a dozen so I HIGHLY recommend against coming to this place.

We called, made a group reservation for 10 people. I asked for 7:30pm the next day and was told on the phone that it had to be either 7pm or 8pm. I said ok, let's go with 7pm. The person on the line asked me if I could call back the next day, an hour before the reservation to confirm that we would still be arriving - no problem, I happily obliged. Then we show up at 6:50pm to check in for the reservation and was told that they needed a minute to prepare - again, no problem. 7:15 rolls around and I check in and was told that the tables weren't ready and that they were waiting for a group to get up. Again...nothing happens so I check back in around 7:25 or so and am told, neither big groups have paid (there were 2) and one of them was the manager's friends so they were not going to bother them. I was then offered two tables that would be separated from each other and was told I needed to decide soon or else they would give up those tables as well. So cool, we decided to accept the split tables. However, as soon as our first grill dishes were delivered, the first big group got up and I asked if we could have the big table now and have our group put back together. I was told "yes, no, yes, no" by FOUR separate individuals. The last individual to tell us no said that it was the "final" decision by their supervisor. I then asked to speak to the supervisor due to the constant back and forth and they told me that the supervisor doesn't speak English well. And then I was told that there was a group of 9 coming in at 8pm that needed the big table and we had accepted our fate. I still asked to speak to the manager and was told "we'll call him on his cell and if he answers, we'll put you on" - of course he didn't answer. And then the second big group gets up and I asked again, "hey can we have that big table now" and was told "we'll look into it but we do have more people coming in". And they never came back to us.

BUT GUESS WHAT?!!! Both big tables ended up sitting only 4-5 people at EACH big table when we had to split up our group of 10 that I MADE reservations for. And was told that the time I wanted wasn't available and that I needed to show up at either 7pm or 8pm. They did nothing but charge us a service charge on top of all of that!

NEVER EVER EVER EVER GO EAT HERE. There are far better Korean BBQ places in Vegas that provide much better customer service. Never in my life have I been treated so poorly by MULTIPLE people in one restaurant before. It ruined my meal, and we were charged a service charge for what?...
