“The Dish That Tastes Like Home, Even If You’ve Never Been”
The first time I walked into Naan & Curry, it felt oddly familiar — the smell of toasted cumin, the soft sizzle of garlic hitting oil, and that unmistakable perfume of simmering masala that wraps around you like a warm hug. In a city full of neon lights and quick eats, this place offered something rare: comfort.
I wasn’t just here for any meal. I came for a dish that’s traveled continents, changed identities, and still wins hearts: Chicken Tikka Masala.
Legend says Chicken Tikka Masala wasn’t born in India, but in a small restaurant in Glasgow, Scotland. A British customer once ordered chicken tikka and asked for “some sauce” with it. The chef, not wanting to disappoint, mixed up a tomato-based cream gravy with a few ladles of leftover masala. That impromptu solution? It became a global obsession.
It’s funny how something accidental became the most beloved “Indian” dish around the world.
When the server set the bowl down, I could see it — rich, orange-red curry swirling around golden chunks of tandoori chicken. You know the kind of dish where your spoon pauses mid-air, just to take in the aroma? That’s what this was.
Each bite was creamy, smoky, slightly tangy with just a touch of heat — like velvet on your tongue. And the garlic naan? Charred just enough to give you crunch before melting into buttery softness. It’s the kind of meal that makes you forget the day. Makes you stop scrolling. Makes you remember to be grateful.
✨Service & Layout: One thing i dislike that we order at the cashier and pay upfront and tip when we hadn’t had the time to experience...
Read moreWent there for dinner buffet with a couple of friends. $25 for dinner buffet, starting from 430p till closing. Not bad selection. Salad, one dessert, tandoori chicken, and about 6-7 different typical Indian dishes including masala paneer, butter chicken, goat curry, etc. Flavor was good. I do wish it was a little spicier. From my experience eating Indian food, spice was definitely a huge part of it. I do understand it’s a buffet and so must appeal to all palates but even a hint or mild spice wouldve been nice. It just all tasted same with the curries.
I did appreciate the fresh naan and rice they provided with each table. I have been to places where their naan and rice is set out with the buffet dishes and has been dry or burnt because its been seating out there under the buffet heating lamps, so the fact that they make their naan fresh when you are seated and have rice delivered to your table is a good addition. Service was excellent and they were prompt with making sure we had plenty of supply of naan and rice.
Otherwise, $25 for a dinner buffet isnt bad if youre looking for one. There are not a lot of places that offer dinner buffet as most Indian places only serve lunch. But if youre just looking for Indian buffet in general, I would just do a lunch buffet, cheaper and likely similar.
Overall, food selection and flavor is comparable to many other Indian places Ive been to in Vegas. But their difference is they offer dinner buffet (only at this location at Durango) and I do like their freshly made naan to the table...
Read moreI was drawn in by the high rating on google maps. Unfortunately any discerning Indian food lover is going to be disappointed. The good stuff, the palak pakoras, lassi and sliced oranges were the highlights.
Unfortunately everything else was average to terrible. The Dal Makhani was the worst, it was undercooked, lacking the makhani (butter) and was like eating half cooked pulses. The Chole garbanzo beans dal was also undercooked slightly and lacked any flavor that had a semblance of “Chole”, couldn’t tell what it was supposed to be. The butter chicken was average at best, the curry was flavorful, the chicken cuts were questionable. The tandoor chicken and Bombay chicken were cooked well through and through, tender but lacked flavor. The Panner curry had the most flavor amongst the dishes, but it tested good, the flavor was nothing like what an authentic flavor for that would taste like. The panner cubes themselves weren’t tender and were over cooked and blackened. The second worst item I had there was the garlic Naan, it was terrible and actually made everything taste worse, I suspect the quality of the underlying dough used to make the Naan was to blame. The desert was so bad we just switched the juicy cut oranges.
The service however was quite good and made up for the lack authentic gourmet...
