Rivas Mexican Grill #22 — Restaurant in Spring Valley

The burrito has a tortillas that doesn’t equate to the portion of food it contains. I had to tear off 1/4 of it. It was hard as if it was roasted instead of steamed, The burrito had overcooked chicken breast, big dry chunks of meat hard to chew. Some days the meat is small and appropriate size for breast in a burrito. Other days someone is lazy with that knife. But filled with onion and bell peppers . No beans or rice, just the protein and pico with 75% ONIONS. I thought i ordered an onion burrito. SMH they have some house guacamole that’s like a liquid and it was generously served. It was filled through out. With more delicious onions (sarcasm). A lot of crunching, not your typical burrito. I tried everything on the menu …. i noticed there’s no real consistency. They were hit or miss but lately they been totally missing. This super onion burrito was the last straw. Terrible and I won’t be back. I tried . I’m this economy $11-12 for an onion burrito...

We tried the new location for $.99 chicken taco Wednesdays, my wife ordered 4 taco's and I ordered 2 taco's and a bean burrito with extra cheese. I wish I could put pictures on here because there was at best a teaspoon of chicken in the taco's and most of the chicken was cooked like jerky! The bean burrito with extra cheese was $9.00 and barely had any cheese in it let alone extra! This place will be lucky to make it 6-8 month's. Do yourself a favor and go right across the street and pay $1.50 for Roberto's chicken taco's on Wednesday, Roberto's may cost a little more but they are way better than Rivas! So I just decided to try Rivas for lunch. I ordered a California Burrito with no potatoes. Which sounds weird but it’s easier and cheaper than ordering an asada burrito, no guac and typically getting charged for adding cheese. The guy at the counter even confirmed. Meat, cheese and pico? Yes! And the receipt was right. I get home and it’s potatoes with no pico. Super frustrating. Overall the counter guy was nice, the steak in the burrito was good and the green salsa is pretty good. But accuracy was a fail. There was no one in there but me, so it seems like it would have been easy to ask...
