Where do i start? Came in earlier in the week with a friend and met a very friendly waiter. Food was just alright. We tried one thing on the menu. (See picture) So decided to move a birthday party from another location here. Oh boy, do I regret it! Took us 15 minutes to even be served some water. Even for that, we had to draw the hosts attention. A waitress with red hair just looked at us and shrugged. Knowing fully well that our table had not been attended to. She didn't care!!! Ironically, we were sitting right behind the hosts desk. Oh! And we never had our glasses of water replenished till we left. Our appetizers came in batches, with the waiter forgetting a portion of our appetizers order. One hour later, the birthday celebrant didn't even have his food, while only 5 of us were served. We were a party of seven. Food came out cold. Waiter again came to ask 2 people on the table what they ordered, and again, it was all over the place. We didn't get smaller plates to allow us to share our appetizers with each other. When we requested for them, about 15 minutes after the fact, the waiter came, dumped 7 plates in front of one person, and walked away. He didn't even try to ensure everyone had one in front of them. The pork ramen noodles were tasteless. The samurai hibachi was just okay. The only thing we enjoyed was the crab rangoon and a jalapeño tuna appetizer. (I've forgotten the name) Manager took a few minutes to come out when we asked for her, and we made our thoughts known. Look, I understand that they just opened, and I'm willing to give them grace, but I just had to let people know what my experience was like. It honestly put a damper on our evening. We were told that when someone celebrates their birthday, they get the birthday song played for them and staff acknowledge them as well, WE HAD NONE OF THAT! I swear we felt invisible 🫥 Oh well, thanks for attending...
Read moreThe food and service were good—fresh, tasty sushi and friendly staff. However, I had serious concerns about hygiene. The table was cleaned with Lysol (I'm assuming it was the all-purpose kind, as it was in a yellow spray bottle), leaving visible residue. Our utensils were placed directly on this residue, and the Lysol was sprayed near the salt, pepper, and soy sauce, potentially contaminating them.
Additionally, the waitress cleaned multiple tables with Lysol and then immediately handled our plates and food without visibly washing her hands. Lysol is not meant for food contact surfaces, and using it this way is unsafe. When not used as directed, Lysol can be dangerous around food. It’s concerning that the restaurant doesn’t seem to be following proper sanitation procedures, especially when food safety is such a priority. While I understand the importance of cleanliness, using chemical cleaners improperly around food is a major red flag.
I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their...
Read moreGood sushi for Ohio. I’ve been back a few times and I think a few of their rolls could use more flavor.
Non-sushi options for those of you, who are afraid to live life to the fullest. :P
The Yaki-Udon with chicken was slurping delicious! Ramen is decent. The hibachi and teriyaki aren’t very good. (I’d recommend the owners visit Seattle to see what good teriyaki looks like).
The restaurant itself is new and clean and filled with relaxing piano music. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
I wish they had curry and rice, or oyakodon and some of the comforting foods of Japan, but ingredients and demand may not call for it. The Kastsudon was kind of dry, needs a little something more than the sauce they give. Perhaps not the best plate of food there. Fried rice was...
