Thai Basil Express — Restaurant in Springdale

Wish I could do NO stars. WORST customer service ever. I’m never coming back here again. My boyfriend and I do doordash and received an order for this place. Because of Covid, only the drive-thru was available so we pulled through. An older lady was at the window. We told her the name of the customer who placed the order, but she said they didn’t have that name. So, we ordered for our customer with the red card instead. The order said ONE order of FOUR PIECE crab ragoons. My boyfriend said FOUR PIECE. The lady took our order and we thought nothing was wrong, until about 10 minutes later when she came back and started screaming at us if we were with doordash. Granted, maybe we should’ve said we were from doordash, but you should have your orders under the customer’s name. When we said yes, she threw her hands up in the air and proceeded to yell at her staff to stop cooking. She just WOULD NOT let it go. This whole interaction took an agonizing 30 minutes and she just kept yelling at us about the fact that we didn’t say we were with doordash and that we didn’t say four PIECE when we very obviously DID, she just wasn’t paying attention. When my boyfriend tried to calmly explain that he did say four piece, she just yelled more. She even flagged our car down once we started to leave with the food to scold us more. We even heard her making jokes with her staff about it, laughing, and mocking us WHILE we were sitting there listening to everything. What a crazy, awful, RUDE lady. I repeat, NEVER going back. Love this restaurant! If I want Asian food, I want thai and Springdale Pattaya is where you go if you want good food that makes you sweat a little from spice and is addictive in a good way. I love their crab rangoon, it's crunchy with thick creamy crab filling, and the sauce it comes with is to die for, and all of their menu options are just so good and filling, and then the service! I'm a very awkward person and normally adore shortened interactions if I can get away with it, but this restaurant makes longer interactions worth it. And they will always make sure you're taken care of, I went for my birthday last year bc it's my preferred birthday dinner spot, either in house or takeout, and i had my brothers with me and one of them brought a gift for me, we didnt mention it was birthday, but they saw the gift asked if it was my birthday and told me to wait after eating and everyone came out to sing happy birthday and gave me a complimentary dessert without me or anyone at my table asking, it was so nice and i could tell they just wanted to do it. Love love this place, been going for Years now and have never once been upset about my order. Even when I'm broke as a joke, but want something nice, I always tip as well as I can bc these folks...

UPDATE: THE REVIEW I LEFT WAS FOR PATTAYA THAI, NOT FOR THE NEW RESTAURANT THAT PURCHASED IT. I am surprised they got to co-opt another business's reviews. NEW REVIEW: I can't imagine why they would change the delicious recipes, but they did, and the curries do not taste the same. I'm glad they gave it a much needed make-over inside but the curries used to taste creamy and delicious and now they taste like dirt. I don't know anything about cooking so I don't know what spices they changed, but we ordered three curries as a test of the new ownership, and didn't like any. PLEASE go back to the curry recipes that were used before!!! They were perfection and we won't keep coming for this new curry.
