We were there for my nephews birthday. We got there at 6:30. Everyone was pretty much clearing out by the time we ordered drinks. The first round of drinks took forever to arrive. I was just drinking water, and we had to keep flagging people down to get water. It took the waiter atheist 30 minutes to come take our food order. There were 8 of us, and we ordered 2 appetizers and a meal for each of us. My nephews meal came out at least 10 to 15 minutes before the appetizers. 6 of the 7 adult meals came out out about 10 minutes later. By that time, my nephew was done with his food. All of us were done eating before the last meal came out. When the appetizers came out, we ordered another round of drinks, we had to ask fotlr those twice, and they finally came 15 minutes after the last person's meal came out. I asked when the food came out if I could order food to go, and he said yes, I'll take the order when I come back. That never happened. 3 of us ordered bourbon street chicken with shrimp and mashed potatoes. None of the 3 of us ate much of it. It tasted like melted plastic and the brick they cleaned the grill with. the onions tasted like they had turned. The last plate to arrive was a French dip, and the meat was so overdone that it felt like leather. When the waiter saw we were not eating, he did not ask if everything was okay or anything. My nephew was looking forward to the normal Sunday with a birthday song. The Sunday was brought out put in front of him, no song, only one waiter, not the normal song or group of employees. On top of all of that, it was 43 degrees outside, and they had the AC on so high we were all freezing. I had on 3 jackets and shivered the entire dinner. We asked if they could turn it down and said no. Didn't offer to move us or anything. The whole experience was awful, and the staff was not empathetic or apologetic. The bus boy even came and started busding the table in between us, trying to say goodbyes, and I don't mean clearing plates but fully busding the table. My brother in law and Dad were so mad they finally had to walk outside because they were going...
Read moreI love Applebee's. Let's start with that. Hands down my favorite chain. I came into this Applebee's and added my name to the wait list. The waitress took me to the smallest table in the back by the waiter area. I asked if I could have a different table. A bigger one. Not in the corner because I was waiting for friends to join me (there was 3 other open tables). She told me I would have to wait again. And proceeded to sit down other people who came behind me in the open tables. I said that's fine. She went to talk to the other hostess who rolled her eyes and said very rudely. "She can wait." I told her. I don't mind waiting, to let her know I could hear them. They ignored me. With there backs to me. So I just sat. After a few minutes the other hostess seated me at a booth. This is customer appreciation month and Applebee's is running a special for $1.00 margaritas. So I asked the waitress for one. She responded "we're running out". I looked behind her and said "looks like you have some left from that jug on the counter. She replied "only strawberry and mango" (clearly regular margarita pre-made) on the counter. I said ok and ordered a strawberry. She then proceeded to have an attitude and did not smile one time. So I ordered my food with a salad. She brought me my salad drenched in salad dressing and soggy. So I made it a point to tell her the salad was the best I'd ever had. She appeared very disappointed and still straight faced left my food on the table. I believe they drenched my salad on purpose to upset me. I have to say. I travel frequently from Oregon and California and this has to be the worse Applebee's I've ever seen. Sad. They need new employees. The manager came and went directly to the table next to me and asked how there dinner was. Looked at me and walked by. He did make direct eye contact. The couple seated next to me was leaving and the waitress said "have a good night". When my table left, they looked and then turned walking away without a word. Applebee's needs to work on customer service in Springfield....
Read moreIf I had to pick an Applebee's with the worst of everything it would be this location. Before I mention my most recent visit on April 3rd, of 2022 I will say even 16 years ago it was terrible. Went here for a celebration with family after proposing, server cared more about the young hot girls then helping us. Food was wrong, cold, drinks empty, and then he chased after us because we didn't tip and that was "how he was paying for school." Fast forward to present day. Went here for lunch with my wife and 3 of our kids. Our server was hardly present. Most of the time you couldn't even find her in the vicinity of the room. Even other workers walked right by us. Kids chocolate milks sat empty, my beverage sat empty. I believe I only received one refill the entire time we were there. Ordered food and appetizers. The first appetizer we ordered they were "out of" and the yogurt for the kids strawberries they were "out of" as well. Upon receiving pretzel bites with beer cheese, was nothing more than Alfredo sauce. Now let's talk about the main course. I ordered the whiskey bacon burger. This burger not only had a patty thinner than a fast food patty, but it was flavorless, dry, and over cooked. Worst burger I have had from a restaurant. Wife got the bourbon street chicken and shrimp and she thought it was good. That's not great or delicious, but better than what I received. I told myself I wasn't coming back to Applebee's when our first incident happened, but went there anyway because we were all hungry and it was close by where we were at during that time. Now this terrible experience many years later. I will not be returning to this location. Sorry Gateway Applebee's, do...
