Pretty open area, no enclosed booths at all, it's an all you can eat the moment you walk in, and when you walk in, the servers are bad with english making it difficult to get anything done. They seem to not know their drink menu any as well.
We enjoyed the variety from noodles with beef or chicken, deep fried meats, to sea food like shrimps, prawns, mussels and tiny clams, and honestly the mussels were bomb but I was caught off guard that their larger shrimps were not de-shelled prior or after being cooked, so you were kinda working just to eat something that looked properly prepped but however was lazily preformed. The last thing I wanted was to tear off the tail of the big shrimps and be surprised by the shell of the body still on it. I've experienced more comfortable delivery for those styles of shrimp than that before so, maybe, my standards are a little high for this place.
Their servers in this establishment were a little space-headed with me not able to get a second drink primarily because their observation tactics was quick glances for dirty dishes rather than actually checking on people with communication. Even holding my empty drink up didn't grab their attention so server responsiveness is very low. Think we got accessed twice or three times and it was only because they seen a dish to pick up, so you gotta like get up and chase one of them down or they just on their phone in the corner hiding and texting and between 2 servers and a busser, i found that a little bothersome and irritating because rather than being helped, I got ignored.
Drink selection is small and with the lacking communication from servers I didn't actually know there to be any sushi available, simply because even after expressing it was my first experience there, they just never provided a introduction to the house they work at.
They just sit you down aimlessly and you order a drink from the server, they'll grab it for you and go back to hiding from guests like they are embarrassed to work there, or as if engaging with customers often causes issues.
After drink order you get up and go grab up whatever you would like, the plates are stacked next to the food selection area, I honestly wouldn't say it was the most sanitary conditions and during the busiest hours I could see their design being hectic and having combative guests dancing around each other to get at what they'd like to enjoy or sample.
Overall I'd say if you want a unbothered experience, this is definitely your place, however for first timers, you should go with a friend who's been there once or twice cause the servers won't help you much and you'll be left to wonder how the place works but for $60 (two all you can eat dinners, a Sapporo and Corona as well as the hot sake provided in the pictures) it wasn't terrible for the price.
Give it a 3/10 stars for my experience and in comparison to other places who mimic their route of all you can eat. And even that's a bit of a kind rating honestly.
Not a place I'll be returning to, even after learning how...

I am not native to Oregon, and have found the local food so far to be... lackluster. Lacking salt, flavor, and pretty much any spice at all. I was expecting this buffet to be more of the same. Boy am I glad I was wrong! There is a wide variety of dishes, and each one tasted different and had flavor. It's the first dinner in Oregon that I haven't been reaching for salt and my husband reaching for hot sauce. (Not that even the few "spicy" dishes were at all too hot, but everything had flavor. )
I usually find a good buffet has at least a few more dishes I like than don't like.... Here, it would be easier to list the couple I wasn't impressed with, because I really did like almost every single one. The low points: fried chicken was meh, the spring roll was just okay, and the fortune cookie was a little tough. That's it, and I tried a bite of almost everything (and went back for several items as well). Top of my favorites list was the green beans. I know, right? Not really what you would expect. Other favorites were the variety and unique steamed buns, several shrimp styles, and the bold flavor of the chicken on a stick. Of a unique note, the rice noodles are lightly curry flavor. I can't decide if I like that or not, but had seconds because the taste is intriguing. And husband liked both the fried rice and the rice-milk pudding. Both of which are usually not our favorite things on a buffet.
The Chinese doughnut was a great desert, but don't miss the mini custards and assorted additional things in the cases on the end of some of the rows.
Reading reviews, it seems this restaurant has changed hands recently, and there was a Grand Opening sign out front. I really hope they keep the quality up to this great standard in the future, as it is definitely going to be our go-to whenever we...
Read moreNot a good experience. I've been going here since I was 14 years old, I am now 26. China sun used to be my favourite place to eat as a kid and when I had the extra money (Its kind of expensive).
In the past year, every time I've gone, there has been some kind of problem with the service or food, and today they tried to hustle me.
Some context you need to know. Carry-out prices are $4.25 a pound for lunch and $5.25 a pound for dinner. They said they charge an extra $1 per pound for dinner because of the dinner items like shrimp, and crab. This seems fair.
Story time, I got 2 boxes full of food for my family. Box #1 had: maybe six pieces of shrimp among the other food. Box #2 had: two crab legs and about a half pound of noodles.
They tried to charge me $9.99 a pound for box #2.
When I asked why Im being charged $9.99 a pound for box #2, they told me crab legs and shrimp are $9.99 a pound for carry-out orders (side note: they didn't say anything about box #1 that had shrimp until the end. They originally were going to charge me $5.25 a pound for that box.) I pointed out that they were charging me $9.99lb for 2 crab legs and half a pound of noodles. Then they got really salty and told me I was wrong... I had never had this problem and didnt know what to do. So I argued my point and tried to explain (to the owner) that they are charging me $9.99lb for noodles. I got a little upset after explaining to them 10 times how they were over charging. I was ready to give up and walk out. Just then another customer walked up and ask "what seems to be the problem here". I calmly explained the situation to the other customer who backed me up. They eventually let me put the crab/shrimp in another container and charged me the...
