I have been here many times with no problems. Good service and good food. Not so tonight. When I sat down I gave the waiter my order, one cocktail, glass of ice water and my food order. He brought my cocktail in short order. I asked for silverware and napkins and he said he would bring them with my meal. I could tell that he was irritated that I might think he didn’t know to bring the silverware and napkins, but I had no such intent. He was about the age of my own kids and clearly was raised with the idea that everyone gets a “participation trophy “ regardless of whether they win or not. In any case, he brought my food, and it was fine, as usual. After waiting another few minutes I got up and asked him again for a glass of water. He said he would bring it but it never came. He checked on the group of people at the table next to me seven times, looking my way but never checking on me. Not one time during the meal did he check to see if I needed anything or bring a glass of water. I get that the table next to me had a bunch of his friends or regular customers that he knew but it’s no excuse. Perhaps he wants a “hero reward” for working through Covid, I don’t know. Was he busy? Absolutely, I’m sure. But I too worked through Covid and have a very demanding job caring for disabled and elderly clients. I work hard for my money too. I expect nothing from anyone else that I wouldn’t do myself. This young man needs to understand that every customer should be treated with the same respect, regardless of our age, whether or not we are his friend, or an attractive young woman. I have now finished my food and went to the bar to get my own to go food containers because he still hasn’t come over. My spot is basically cleared off and he hasn’t come over to bring my check or see if I want anything else before cashing me out.
For some reason the pandemic has instilled the idea that merely showing up to work is worthy of a tip, despite the fact that in Oregon, restaurants must pay minimum wage at least. We are not making up for sub-minimum wages like many other states. If people want to be tipped for “service” it would be a good idea...
Read moreWe've haven't been here since the name change but enjoyed it last time so we came in again for dinner at arpund 530-6 on a Thursday. We were greeted and ordered some beer. It was only $3 which was nice but you would think the server would mention that. I would have. I was a server 8 years and bartender 6. Anyways we ordered our food (chix wrap and philly) and the wrap came out with tomatoes but the server remembered as soon as he brought it. I wasn't unhappy and actually was glad he remembered before I ate it. However when it came back the wrap was clearly opened and mangled apart when it came back and I'm not sure I had more then 2 pieces of chicken on it. It was loaded with lettuce and one or two tomatoes. Now like I've said I was in the industry for a long time and mistakes happen and its no big deal but after this we were never offered another drink and we actually heard another server tell her table appetizers were only $5 today until 10. Which to us was a surprise because we thought about ordering one and mentioned it to our server. We ended up not ordering one but I felt like that would have been a prime opportunity to say "hey our apps are actually only $5 right now so if you're trying to decide maybe that helps!" I used to do that with specials. But then again we were presented with a check and never asked if we wanted another drink or anything. Just seemed like they didn't care. Usually we tip well 25-35% because we've been in those positions but we felt only a minimal 15-18% was required for this effort. Just no pride in it. Too bad. My girlfriends Philly was...
Read moreWe had a meetup group here this morning. The Waitress was great & all of our meals were fabulous, with exception of one. She asked for her Burger to be well done, but when she got it, it was super raw, not just a little raw, a LOT raw! Our Waitress said she put "Well Done" on the order, but the cook didn't pay attention. Our Waitress put a new order back in for another Burger to be made correctly & that resolved the issue, other than we were all halfway through our meal's once the new Burger was brought back.
My dining partner's both said that the Steak Bites Basket with Sweet Potato Fries & a Chicken Bacon Avo Wrap with Baked Potato, were both fabulous! The Waitress was BEYOND great, attentive & when I showed her that the cook didn't follow her VERBAL & written instructions to cook my Steak bites well done, she comped them off my bill. I have NO doubt, that had my Steak Bites been cooked correctly, I would give this place full stars! My Salad was great & the couple of Steak Bites, which were cooked correctly, were very delicious! I will try this place again, in hopes that the cook prepares the food correctly next time. Totally 100%, was NOT the...
