Boccardi's Italian Imports — Restaurant in Springfield

My wife decided to try this place last night(jan 18th). We arrived at the restaurant at 740pm with 1 table being occupied and most of the lights off. We were greeted promptly and seated quick. We were seated right next to the bar. The waiter brought water, drinks and rolls to the table pretty quick but the rolls were rock hard. We placed our food order within 10 min of being seated. We ordered 2 specials. The waiter checked on us quite often but it took about 45 min to get our food. While we were waiting i noticed the waiter sitting on the couch behind us on his cell phone, putting his feet up on the couch, sitting on the counter watching the game on the TV and kept rubbing his face and mouth. Once we received our food, the first couple bites were hot then we noticed that it was cold in the middle like it was put in the oven from frozen!. If I'm paying $40 for a plate of food maybe make sure its hot and not made from frozen. We also received dessert with the special (lemicello cake). The first bite was warm and then it was cold, towards the middle! So as we were finishing our desert all the lights were turned off, the music was turned off and the fireplace place was turned off . Why are you turning everything off while customers are stilling the lobby? $105 dollars . We expected food...

We came to Boccardis after a quick google search for Italian food. We saw the good reviews and thought we would give it a try! When we got there, there was a party going on, but despite half the restaurant being filled, we were still able to get a table without a reservation on a Saturday, which was nice. The prices are a little high, as their food was pretty standard Italian. I got the chicken picatta, which is served with a cream sauce. I’ve never had it that way, but it was fine. My husband got the primavera, which tasted kind of similar, as though they have a base for their sauces that they add things to? I’m not sure. I’m giving three stars because the prices were those of a fine dining restaurant, but they still have paper napkins and fake flowers on the tables. They lack the atmosphere of a restaurant that can pass for prices being that high, and their food was...

This place not only has the Best Italian food around, but you will not find nicer people anywhere! Alexis is a wonderful server. She was very attentive and so sweet and friendly. She is going to make an awesome nurse. Congratulations on graduation Alexis! Maria (owner)introduced herself to us and it was like talking to an old friend that you haven't seen in a long time.
