Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Springfield

I made the trip to cold stone tonight and was just a bit taken back. There were 4 workers. 3 doing front line and one in the back doing prep/dishes. There was a long line of people including the three in my party. Of the three front line workers, only one seemed to know what was even going on. The other two performed as if it was their first day. Asking several times what we wanted. Making it wrong the first time. We were polite and reminded him that the item we ordered had two more ingredients in it and needed to be in a waffle bowl. Another member of my party requested a strawberry banana smoothie. The worker then proceeded to scoop strawberry ice cream into a blender, add ice then pour into a cup. It was barely half way full, watery and just not what we ordered. He put it up on the counter and asked us to taste it to see if it was okay. It obviously wasn’t. The worker that seemed to know what he was doing stepped in and remade it for us. There was just so much disorganization and questioning of simple things I just don’t know what to say besides I hope they do some more training with these employees. Coldstone has long been one of my families favorites. My girls beg to go there. We get our birthday cakes here, and visit bi-weekly. After last night I am not sure we will return.

First and foremost, getting hounded by the homeless outside with my 2 young children on the way in was slightly aggravating. I know this is out of the owners control and by no means did I use that in rating this as it is not their fault; but definitely a turn away when considering where to go.

When inside the staff members were extremely friendly, but our Ice Cream was melted. Like slightly thicker than pudding consistency and not very cold. All of the ice cream in the case was melting. They were out of 3 of the 4 things we asked for. Our waffle bowl was burnt and slightly stale. They didn't have sample spoons for my daughter to try the barbie ice cream before she ordered it. Their ice machine was broken. The list goes on and on.

Long story short, I expected better for $29 worth of ice cream products. Normally I think very highly of Coldstone, not so sure I feel the...

On Friday night (9/29) I got there at 9:35pm. On the door it says it closes at 10pm, and googles says it closes at 11pm. The door was locked.. there was 4 customers already inside. At least 7 more customers come up behind me waiting to get in bc the store closes at 10… once again.. so we all wait until the gal comes out and only lets in the doordash guy who was already waiting 10 minutes to get in bc the door was locked- and then tells us other customers “I’ve been here working alone since 2pm so I’m closing early”.. mind you this is your job so quit complaining and second if an establishment says you close at a certain time you should close at that certain time. How do you expect to run a successful business this way? They couldn’t made at least another $100 in the last 30 minutes from us if they wouldn’t closed at said closing time. Drove 10 minutes for a certain ice cream thinking it would be open. Just horrible customer service and I’ve worked in the food industry on and off for several years. Probably...
