Can't say enough about First Watch. Excellent food, excellent service, great aesthetics.
We started out with decaf coffee, there was plenty of creamer supplied on the table and two sugar options, raw and a substitute. They left the carafe for us at the table. I ordered the Superspeed Protein Pancakes, probably the best pancakes I've ever had in all my 51 years. The flavor was a great balance of nutty and fruity, it came with a delicious fruit compote on the side. I still added syrup because I don't like my cakes dry. My husband had The Works Omelette with house potatoes for his side. He mentioned the toast, that it was crispy on the outside but pillow soft inside, and the whipped butter was the perfect glaze. They brought water with our meal and left the cutest jar with extra if we needed it.
Each staff member we came into contact with was genuinely friendly, all smiles. They checked on us only once, which I liked because I can't stand it when staff asks how we're doing every five minutes. My logic says that if you've done your job right the first time, there's no need to constantly ask how someone's doing.
As you can see from the photos, First Watch is simply decorated. While I enjoy looking at things restaurants put on the walls, I think the absence requires customers to focus on each other and their food experience.
Well done First Watch! Well worth the drive...
Read moreI've been here twice, once on opening weekend and once, today, where it was us and a few friends, totaling 5 people. On our first visit, our server was excellent and attentive, the food was spectacular and I'm glad I waited to leave a review until now because today was an absolute mess.
I can understand and excuse the long wait to get sat - it's a Sunday, they're new, and this town loves it's breakfast. What I can't excuse is waiting over a half hour just to get our food, a completely wrong order which caused one person to eat much later than the rest of us, a cold, inedible meal for one in our party (who had to send it back), eggs that were beyond overcooked, and a server (who was an older woman with short hair) who was inattentive and didn't seem to care at all. We had to have a different server fix the issues with our meal, who was much better by the way, and the manager had to come over and offer us a free breakfast for two. On a table of five, where only one of us didn't have a complaint about our food. They also never even gave us water.
My girlfriend and I will be giving this place a second chance since our first experience was so good, but our friends will definitely not be back, which we feel bad about since it was our idea. On our next visit we will make sure to have a different server and hope to have a better experience, but if not I doubt ...
Read moreIf you want the best service with a smile, go visit Jess. She's one of their most experienced servers/bartenders. Her knowledge of the menu was impeccable. She recommended a turkey and spinach egg white wrap that was amazing. The portions here are excellent. I was trying to eat healthy, and she was considerate enough to respect that I didn't want to walk out stuffed. I was looking for just right, and that was exactly what I got. I had a great time visiting with her and the manager as it was slower than normal that early in the am. I recommend getting there before 10am because they fill up fast. It's by far one of the best breakfast spots in town in regards to a great variety of food for all diners and diets alike. You won't be disappointed. Bring the family, church group, or just yourself. Your stomach and pocket book will thank you. Or hit the snooze button Mallory 😴 😆 and miss out on all the fun. But just know I'll take the First Watch while you youngsters snooze any day of the week. Top Notch Customer Service and ambiance all around. Way to go, Springfield, National St. Location. In my opinion, Jess should be promoted for how many guests she can greet, serve, and remember their names and orders. That's "Huge" these days with dining out and customer service going away significantly. I look forward to returning when I'm...
