I chose this restaurant as it was close to our hotel so had no knowledge of its history. It was in a small strip mall near a bigger shopping center (so was a bit hard to find with GPS directions as we were in the larger shopping center driving around until we found the smaller one at one end.) But it was worth the search after we entered what appeared to be a small 'family' style restaurant from the outside, but turned out to be a much larger restaurant once inside. It was pretty dark at first, but as our eyes adjusted to the light, everything went uphill from there. Hot, thin, delicious chips and dip arrived with our menus. The waitress was fast, attentive, and friendly throughout. I ordered a margarita that required two hands to lift. My husband ordered a burrito that was massive and colorful with the rice and beans inside. I ordered a 2 entree combo plate and they offered a choice of beans instead of just the standard refried so chose black beans which were perfectly cooked along with the best tasting chicken enchilada and chile rellano I have ever had! Both of us planned to take half our meals back to our hotel room for later but just couldn't stop eating the delicious food so cleaned our plates. We enjoyed it very much, and the price was very reasonable for the quality and size of the meals served. We will stop there again when we pass through the Eugene/Springfield area...

Fix your menu please.

The "Mexican Favorites" part of the menu states (beneath the title) that the items in that section come with rice and beans. I ordered a taco salad and when it showed up it did not come with rice and beans. I asked the server and she explained that it doesn't actually come with those sides, so I asked to see a menu and showed her where it clearly stated that the section I ordered from included rice and beans. She advised that multiple items in that section don't actually come with rice and beans and it is not stated anywhere in the item descriptions that they are excluded.

On top of that the taco salad is meat, lettuce, and cheese in a fried tortilla. $3.99 to add guac and sour cream, $0.99 to just add sour cream, and $3.99 to add guac to just the top. I did not opt for any add-ons as I believed it would come with rice and beans. It didn't taste amazing, it tasted like boiled chicken with iceberg lettuce strips with very little flavor.

I did not speak with a manager while I was there, but I think the menus should be changed or all items in that section should come with rice and beans...

Went to dinner with my family and the food was delicious, when it came to my drink. I asked for another when the sodas came out with just the carbonated water without the flavoring. I revived another one they were the same as before. When I asked for it to be removed the assistant manager who was my server denied me. My son and I ended up with nothing to drink but was charged. I also had to ask for water to drink as they did not proved anything thing in its place. The assistant manager also put his own tip $13.40 on my check without my permission, and did not give me a print out until I asked because of other issues. He also got upset and slammed a glass cola cola on my table, pertaining to the soda issue, which did not cover the $7.00 worth of soda charges. The other servers do not know what do when a problem occurs. They acted like they were so busy to help the situation. I would like to go back for the food, but the with this kind of service its worth the cost...

The food was good but they definitely only get 2 stars. The side of beans that came with my Caldo 7 Mares that I specifically paid extra for the whole order to be a large, was abysmal. The Caldo size was small as well. You can't charge people $4-$5 to upgrade to a Large and then serve them a Tiny. I've seen Happy Meals bigger. Now, I understand people might think I'm being a little dramatic, or possibly exaggerating the size, (or lack thereof) but, well, pics for proof. Aside from the quarter, or my hands for scale, just to verbally describe them, my side of beans came in a ramekin that people put sauce in. I was almost upset because I thought it wasn't there and they forgot it. I feel like it's more of a slap in the face that they sent what they did. I could have forgiven the mistake if they hadn't sent it, but this? Nah. But like I said, the Caldo was good so if you're on a diet and want to feel like a bad a$$ by ordering a large and receiving a tiny portion, be my guest.

Hacienda De Amigo is located at the crossroads of ordinary and insipid. The staff are welcoming and friendly while the atmosphere provides a warm sense of Latin American culture. Our order of carne asada tacos were delivered with your standard issue side of rice and beans and guacamole. Upon receipt of the order and after an unusually long wait, we dug in to enjoy what smelled like a meal worth waiting for. Unfortunately, this was not our experience and the nearly room temperature food created only disappointment. The flavors were subtle and tortillas were soggy. While our experience may not be reflective of others, it certainly left a bad first impression. Perhaps next time we will take the advice of the sign outside and try the “best fajitas” in town instead.

My wife and I stopped in here today for the first time after hearing some positive comments. We decided to do the steak fajitas for two. We were absolutely shocked at how much food we got. The platter with meat and veggies could've easily fed at least 3 people. And we each got our own plate with rice and beans. I think we *maybe* finished half of what we were given. We took a to-go container absolutely PACKED full of food. The fajitas were great, as were the beans and rice. It was an amazing value considering the meal itself was just under $40. Our server was very nice and gave us plenty of attention. I'm giving 4-stars across the board because it was our first visit. If it's this good the next time, we'll definitely be raising it to 5-stars.
