Hickory River Smokehouse — Restaurant in Springfield

So...I tried to solve this issue by calling the store, but NO ONE will answer the phone. We visit this establishment quite frequently. But as of late, they have failed to put all the items I order in the bags to go. This happened three weeks ago and I informed them later as I went there to pick up lunch. I was not asking for them to make up for the omission. The following week I ordered again, through the drive through. I made them double check my order. It was all there. 🙂 Fast forward to this evening, I place a somewhat large order and I usually don't tip at the drive through, but with Covid-19, we tip everywhere. I get home, my daughter is habding out everyone's order and guess what! No freaking onion rings AGAIN!!! For this place to upset a long time customer who enjoys your establishment, the food and your workers, it takes a lot. Its not just the mistake, its close to $8.00 twice now. If it continues, I'll stop coming to the store and or quit tipping. Yeah, I'm upset. Do better by your customers who try to support you and your jobs. Don't blame the lady taking the order either. I purchased the 24 pc smoked chicken wings. They were the worst ones I’ve ever had! In addition instead of getting 24 pieces I was given 22 pc and two tips of the chicken wing?? Also when I first went in an employee was texting on his cell phone back where the food was being prepared. I was greeted by a very nice/polite man I assumed was the shift manager. Once I was ready to place my order he called a lady to take my order. The lady never showed up so the employee who was texting put his phone away and came to get my order. The wings tasted old like they had been sitting for a while the sauce was not good either🤢. I would not leave the counter because I didn’t want “Mr. Cell phone” to touch my food without washing his hands and putting on gloves. He put on one glove and proceeded to take someone’s rib out and cut it up without putting on the other glove. Not only had he been using his cell phone he had just taken my money🤮. While I was watching him a lady came from the back and out my wings in a box. I didn’t see them cook any so they must have been in a warmer and from the taste it was! I will never eat...

The food smelled delicious driving past so I told myself I had to stop and try it. I went thru the drive thru about two hours before closing. I wanted to put that out there first. I got the meal with brisket and ribs. My sides were Mac n cheese, corn bread, and potato salad. The brisket was the highlight of the meal and it tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer for a little while. It was good and like I said it was closer to close so I understand. The ribs were ok, but i didn't care to much for the mold sauce (personal preference). The potato salad was a bit under seasoned but it was ok. The mac n cheese (which is normally my favorite no matter where it's from) had a "different" taste to it. I can't figure out what was off to me about it. I think I'd try them again especially closer to the time they first open. I know bbq is different when it's first out of the smoker/...
