First of all, my name is not Alyvia. She is an 11 yr. old child, who would likely know how to change accounts. My name is Shirley, a 58 yr. old Grama, who does not know how to use electronics (comparatively). None the less, here we are. This was my first visit to a dispensary, so I really did not know what to expect. I was both under and overwhelmed. In my mind, I would walk into a luxurious room filled with decadent pastries, displayed on the finest china and crystal platters. I imagined my mouth near watering. I would feel let down because I really had no need for their product, but love sweets. I would continue to shop..... did I say, I was shopping on a friends behalf? Yeah, thatās the back story. I would make a side note to find an equally elegant bakery on the way home to satisfy my sweet tooth, but for now, I had to somehow figure out what the best choices would be for my friends needs. Do I base it on their particular catagory of sweets, or on their physical needs? I went with the latter of course. Now I am not saying there are not place like I imagined, Iām sure there is, because I saw it on WEEDS! š Iām just saying that this was not one of those... hence my being underwhelmed... I would even go as far as saying, just Damn disappointed! š¢ What I did find, was a group of friendly yet highly professional attendants. Each of them caring their take of the process or product if you will. I found their individual approach refreshing. This said to me, these people are not reciting memorized catch phrases to sell their product. It said to me they have researched the product, not only through personal experience, but by having a firm grasp of the pathophysiology of their products. Obviously, this is the pleasant part of my reality. As Samatha went through the products she explained which strands provided what effects most likely to benefit my friends needs. Now, I am sure you have figured out, that my ā friendā was not present.. so as I am learning, Iām communicating a breakdown of my knowledge to said friend. After I made a decision on the product, I was walked through the different edibles in stock, that contained the strand I desired. About a half hour after I arrived, my choices were made, I was happily on my way. So as I see it, service wise, I could not be more pleased. I expected to come and get me a few 15 dollar brownies and instead, I left with a head full of knowledge and a bag full of potential relief for my friend. Not only did I get all of this, me and every other customer there at the time, was treated with respect and not for a moment did I feel rushed. I have nothing but praise for this place. And BTW... it was great to see the person I care so much about being freed from their discomfort and anxiety. Yeah, Iāll be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI live 13 hours away from this dispensary, one way. After getting a rather scary diagnosis, and subsequent procedures and follow up care coming down the line, I started to research cannabis to help me through the recovery process. After over a week of careful planning, I chose Maribis and one other dispensary and got on the road. I am extremely grateful I planned more than one option, because the other choice was a fail of epic proportions.
What happened to me during my visit to Maribis is a bit of a long story and mostly irrelevant and a lot of extra boring words for you. But what I will say is this, and please hear me: the people that work here are genuinely kind and good. All of them.
I am not able to be a medical patient here because I am not a resident, so I am considered recreational. But after hearing just a fraction of my story they treated me with compassion and I truly felt heard and call me crazy... cared for.
I donāt know what other dispensaries are up to (except one, who treated me like absolute garbage and lost my business, not that they gave a hoot), but this one really and truly is here for patient care, and they do an amazing job at it.
The prices are very fair, and the product quality is impressive. Last night I slept soundly and pain-free for the first time in a long time. And after a horrible road trip to boot.
Please consider them above all the rest. Who cares if they are out of the way? They are worth 26 hours in a car to me. I think that says a lot. Side note - quick and easy free parking as well in their private lot.
Also, extra shoutout to the security guard who told me not to leave Springfield without having a horseshoe sandwich. It was freaking delicious. (I snagged one at Booneās, and their stuffed fried pickles are to die for too.)
ALSO they are taking COVID precautions SUPER seriously. Masks required, 6 foot distance mandatory, they have protective barriers for their employees, constant cleaning and sanitizing. This means everything to someone with a compromised immune system. Loyal...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband is a recipient of the cannabis program. We live in Decatur. I work till 5pm. He is unable to take children in your store. So he has to wait till I come home around 5:30pm. Then he has to wait for his ride to get to our house. It takes at least 45 to 50 minutes to drive to your establishment. Today after I'd finally saved enough money for the gas and the money to get his medicine, he had a friend drive him up there. Again, it takes 45 to 50 minutes to get there. It's dark, the roads are not ideal for even going the speed limit and it's raining. Our vehicle doesnt fit all of our children and on top of that my husband has seizures and is unable to drive himself.
He was 10 minutes out from being there so he called. The woman he spoke to assured him it was alright and they would get him in even thou the building closes at 7pm. My husband arrives and not only is he told no we cant do that. The gentlemen he spoke to was smirking like turning him away is something funny. Not only do we not have the gas to come back. My husband will not have to manage 3 kids and his PTSD and chronic pain until I can get more gas money.
If it wasnt ok for him to be a few minutes late then why was he told it was? Is it typical for employees to feel joy in not allowing a customer who is out of his medication to deny him? Is a few minutes really to late when it comes to medicine that people have to travel to obtain? I'm going to be contacting the highest person I can right down to the IDPH about this. This was a cruel joke to play on someone. And, now my husband will suffer because he was lied to. And, while he failed to get names. I have the time he called and I'm sure there is a time sheet with whomever was on the clock from 6 to 7pm.
We are extremely upset with the cruelty and what my husband is going to have to endure until someone can get him back up there. Not everyone lives close to a dispensary or has perfect opportunities to get there. I hope this was not how people are...
