Went here Friday afternoon around 130pm. First time here, but had heard good things. The young man that took our oder was great. The goat cheese salad is hands down the best salad I have ever had ( minus the onions). Our pizza took a little longer to get to our table, but it wasn't me that complained. The young man came to my table and apologized for the wait, but again I had not said a word. Now this is where things go from I like this place, to I love this place. Without missing a beat, he said the salads are on the house. I remind you thar I was perfectly fine with the wait. The pizza is amazing. The service us amazing. All 3 gentlemen there thanked us for coming in. This is what a good customer experience should be like. Another gentlemen came in looking for a job..not that I was being nosey, but we were the only table there at the time so it was easy to hear. Instead of the employee being rude and dismissive to the man, he actually sat and talked to him. He was kind and genuinely interested to talk to him. I was completely blown away. In a time when people are so mean to each other, this was refreshing. I will definitely go back . Thank you for the amazing service, and the great food. Job well done. This place deserves 10 stars...
Read moreReally good pizza!! Definately recommend the Papi (even though it's different, the flavors together are amazing)!
Stopped while traveling to spend the night in Springfield, and couldn't decide what we (2 adults & 3 kiddos) wanted to eat. Papi's didn't show up on our original search, but after getting turned away at another place, we searched again and found Papi's Pizza. We are glad we did.
Place seems newer. Nice decor. Someone greeted us not too long after we came in. Sat in the restaurant portion. We started with the queso & chips. Nothing super fancy, but decent flavor and chips weren't stale. Hubs and I each had a Moscow mule, which hit the spot. Husband ordered The Papi & kids and I got the traditional thin crust large pizza, 1/2 sausage/pepperoni & 1/2 mushroom. Pizzas were really good. Sauce had good flavor, crust had perfect crunch, and cheese was good.
I decided to try a small piece of The Papi, and boy was I glad I did. I usually like traditional pizza, and am not one for all the "weird" combo's, but this is a must try. The flavors really worked perfectly together. It was amazing!!
Overall I highly recommend this place. Staff was nice, good decor, place was clean, and great...
Read moreNEW REVIEW: I wanted to amend my review from earlier… We gave it a bit of time and decided to give this place another try. They have truly fixed all of the issues from before! We were all incredibly impressed. Our meal tonight was amazing, the waitress was incredible and our food came out super quickly and was just as we’d ordered it and absolutely delicious! I’m so happy to be able to edit this and it’s so lovely for this area of Springfield to have a cozy little neighborhood spot to grab a tasty meal and relax. Major kudos to the dedication of the owner and hard working staff!
OLD REVIEW: no longer applies We’ve given this place several tries because I prefer to support local businesses as often as possible. Unfortunately, tonight was the last straw. We walked in and waited about 10 minutes with no one greeting or taking our order before giving up and leaving. The staff were walking around and chatting but not much else. Every time we’ve been the wait has been extremely long (up to an hour for a couple slices of pizza) and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better :( it’s a shame because the food is really good but the bad service and long wait times...
