On Sunday January 12th I ordered takeout from your restaurant it was the Hibachi chicken in fried rice with no onions I ordered an extra order of fried rice I also ordered a spicy tuna roll. When I got home I had eaten a bite of the chicken and as I was chewing was realizing that the chicken was not cooked all the way and it did not taste good at all. I told my husband I needed to re cook the food so we didn't get sick from the chicken not being cooked all the way. So after I re cooked the meal which I had paid $33 for my husband and I ate. Later that evening we both were not feeling very well he was having stomach pains as well as I was but his wasn't as bad. Throughout the night I kept getting worse and ended up vomiting and having severe diarrhea. Which lasted from 4 in the morning until three that Monday. All day Monday I was in a lot of pain I could not get out of bed and less it was to puke or to have diarrhea. I was unable to eat and for the next two days I was in pain and still unable to eat. I ended up going to the doctor on Thursday morning where he told me it sounded like I had food poisoning from the first bite of chicken that I ate before I re cooked it. And now I had a bacteria most likely E coli in my colon which was causing me pain and causing me to still have the diarrhea and the vomiting. so for an entire week after eating your food I have been sick I have had to try to take care of my kids being sick I have had to try to do my job which is a job I do at home by myself and I have been unable to fulfill orders on time all because I ordered takeout from your restaurant. it is now Saturday almost one week later and I am still ill in my colon and in my stomach from eating your food. all I have been able to eat this last week is some pudding crackers and a little bit of cereal. I am writing you this to let you know that I am extremely dissatisfied in the food I had purchased from your restaurant in that you need to make sure before you sent out food it is cooked thoroughly. I will inform my family and friends of what has happened to me because I do not want anybody else to suffer...
Read moreI’ll start by saying that the man who actually cooked the food and was entertaining was one of the more interesting ones I’ve seen in a while, so this place has that going for it, as well as giving noodles which is a twist I haven’t seen with hibachi. Sadly, most of the rest of the experience was at or slightly below average.
It took a full 15 minutes for someone to come around and take orders, and one thing wasn’t available so a shift had to be made. Sushi was about the same quality as other similar places so that was fine. Soup and salad were okay but not definitely a step down in flavor than what I’m used to. Fried rice wasn’t the best either, though the protein choices were reasonably good. Overall, the place felt kind of average as food ranged from slightly below average to good and service was a bit poor outside of the cook himself. Not a place I’d go out of my way for again but I’d still go if anyone with me really wanted to. There are better Japanese places closer to me, so it’s possible I’m a bit...
Read moreCurious what sushi options there are around Springfield and decided to check out Sakura. Very obvious this isn't a sushi place since it's assumed everyone is there for Hibachi. And they weren't wrong with everyone else.
I ordered a dragon roll and 2 orders each of eel, tuna and 3 of salmon. I asked if 1 order was 2 pieces and the server smiled and said yes. Bless her heart. Very sweet older lady who I could barely understand. No issues whatsoever - even when I received half of what I ordered and got nigiri instead of sashimi.
Quality of fish is as expected for a Hibachi focused place. Definitely not bad but also not great. Very much average to match the average price. No idea how well it ranks with other local spots. You won't be disappointed if you go here so it's a solid choice for business trips or a quick bite and drink. Oh and their ginger salad is the sweet white dressing type where the iceberg lettuce swims in the bowl. That could be good or bad depending on...
