Arrived @4:50pm, still in time for the afternoon/evening discount of $9.49. There is a select list of specials for this price and every one is well worth the price. I love their side salad. The croutons that they make are fantastic. I went with a friend that had dental surgery 4 days ago and had no problems eating the croutons. Most croutons that I come across are hard, crunchy and difficult to chew even with teeth. Theirs are made in house, have a very light crispy bite and are very flavorful without being over powering. I recommend the baked sweet potato in place of the regular baked potato, the rice or the mashed potatoes. The sweet potato is always soft and the skin pulls completely off without any problem. I get the honey butter like they have for the hot rolls and top that off with brown sugar to taste. I prefer very sweet and request 3-4 of the small containers of brown sugar but if you don't care for that much sweet only use part of 1 container or no brown sugar at all. The reason I don't eat the skin on the sweet potato is because I have found that the sweet potato doesn't always seem to get washed as well as the regular potato (which is coated with rock salt) and there are usually small sprouts that have started to grow out of the sweet potato and are not something I have any desire to eat. Just turn the sweet potato upside down on the plate and pinch the skin at one end between your thumb and forefinger and pull slowly, straight up. If the skin seems to be a little stuck and uncooperative pinch the other end between your thumb and forefinger like the other end and pull straight up. It should come of without much effort. If you discover one of those small sprouts stuck in the flesh of the sweet potato either pull it out with the tines of your fork or cut it out using your steak knife. Don't be afraid to mash the sweet potato on your plate with your fork. This isn't a coat-and-tie affair. Enjoy your meal and on the outside chance someone gives you a dirty look or is gutsy enough to actually say something about mashing your sweet potato, politely (or not) remind them that they aren't paying for your meal and the last time you checked there were no rules contrary to mashing your sweet potato and for them to please mind their own business!! Oh, and one important rule to remember that will make your meal much more enjoyable, do NOT consume more than 1/2 of a dinner roll. Eating more than that is guaranteed to make consuming the rest of your meal a miserable...
Read moreIt was the seating and service we recieved.first we were seated clear in the back when the restaurant was three-quarters empty it was 12 p.m. in the afternoon. Our server a young man was very nice and polite just not attentive when our food was brought my steak was medium rare as I ordered however the Fries looked very unappealing and saturated in grease dirty grease as if they had been cooked 15 minutes or more prior I asked the delivery runner if they would eat these they said they looked fine of course they looked fine to them I told them they should never serve anything that they would not eat try again.. the the person I was with ordered it medium well it was rarer than mine so we sent it back when it came out the second time it was medium rare again and it was the same piece of meat that was not acceptable so we asked for them to do it again by this time I was done with my meal and my company had not received theirs yet when they brought his food he had no silverware because they had taken that I asked another girl for some silverware 15 minutes later she brought it back then a waitress that was not even serving us came over trying to pacify me saying sometimes these things happen in the moment I did not need to be pacified. She was very condisending and not genuine at this point I was ready to walk out, ifthese kids you had working spend as much time on customer service as they do checking their cell phones perhaps I would not have been dissatisfied the only thing that help this situation was the manager Daunti came over to speak to us I express my discontent of the entire situation he was nice enough to take some money off our bill as it should have been as we came there to eat together. Wwhen these kids are working their phones should not be on them if there is an emergency someone can call the establishment I have never seen such bad service. Customer service is not in their vocabulary I wish to add that this is typically my favorite restaurant to eat at because of the salad and this was the worst experience I ever had Sharon Allen 315 St Paul...
Read moreAddendum: after reading your lame response as to who I should reach out to.. I already have. Most people would say I'm sorry we messed up here's a free drink or something. But you're telling me who to complain to? No I know who to complain to my father is a lawyer but before he got his degree he was a franchise owner, and I'm well aware of how things work in the restaurant business. And the hierarchy. If I could put zero Stars I would I came up to the window at 15 till then it started pouring and all the employees before they shut the lights off after they saw me standing there ran out to their cars. I get it they don't need the business there's such high clientele that come here LOL. More like a country uppity gang. 😂 I'm homeless bc of CHF n DV. I work all day to get a good meal this is the only place open and they decided to close 15 minutes early. Now I'm pretty sure they're going to know who I am and therefore it will cause me problems whether I go in the store or just stand on the same street. This is just another reason why I hate gen Z. And cult like restaurants such as Starbucks. And I'll tell my friends and family not to eat here even though they wouldn't anyhow after they hear my story of me being discriminated again either that or was just pure laziness whatever was the problem I don't know but I will go straight to corporate n up until I am fully satiated but I was completely treated wrong as I see people walking in and out of the doors riddle me that. I'm not typical panhandler I do this while I'm waiting on my SSD check because I have CHF and today could be my last day so I'm not going to hold my feelings or opinions back. I get judged enough. It probably more than likely had something to do with me being a quote unquote bum then it did with me being so invisible that they locked the doors 15 minutes early. But I'm used to that. I'm just not used to speaking up about it. And God don't like ugly remember that if y'all have brains under those...
