Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Springfield

If there's a negative star. THIS WOULD BE IT. The cashier was the only one who cared in this place. He started cleaning after all the customers got their orders. It was only after 15mins. Since it was busy.

Got in for a shake after a Halloween party. And this chaos greeted us. Mind you. We only ordered one shake. It took us 20mins to get it cause they werent looking at the order screen nor even cleaning. They were only standing and talking.

As a good citizen of Springfield, I thought this should be addressed.

The manager was there the whole time talking to the lady crews. Overheard a conversation. She said that she just moved to this branch and that all places are hiring. Sounded like she didnt wanna work hard bcuz of it.

Cashier even called their place a wasteland. It took 20mins of chatting before the manager saw us waiting. She said sorry and told the crew to make it.

Saw the cook putting the top buns near the rug that you see on the pics. He also wipe with that rug on the bun tray. The buns are uncovered. Fries are all over the place. Raw or cook. All tables are uncleaned. Food everywhere. We sat in the bar stools and no. Those arent our drinks or napkins.

Just a terrible place to eat. Put us off of steak and shake. 🤮🤮🤮

End point. The only place that were busy was the cook and the cashier. Ive work at Mcdo before and I couldve done way better. they werent doing their jobs at all. That's the story. Neither they care, by the looks of it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I do not recommend. I drove out of my way to come here because in the past this place was the best on my book. But it's totally gone downhill. We were the only ones there. Quite a few employees sitting around talking and looking at newspapers while the waitress I had spent most of her time trying to figure out how to clock out on her register then attending to her only customer. Finally, she realized she couldn't clock out because she has a customer. Then she came over after we finally got our food and we were trying to eat and wanted me to pay right then and there. She comes back to give me her change and she saw two ones on the table and she says oh. Is this my tip? So she took the $2 and off she went. Taking mine I was going to give her the change that was left over from my money that I paid the bill with but since I never got any refills nobody ever checked on me untill after my waitress left a really nice blonde hair lady came and asked us if we need anything. We told her that we needed a box. But we still didn't get the box. I had to get up and go ask for one again. French fries were barely warm. The hamburgers were okay. The shake that I was so excited for my grandson to have came in a styrofoam cup because the employees were so lazy that they didn't have any clean cups available taking mind we were the only customers there. I would not...

Will not go back to this one again! First off had food in my child's burger, which was remade. When they were made aware of the hair it seemed as if it was no big deal. Then after we finished eating we ordered shakes. After 10 minutes of waiting on those I paid and took my fussy one year old to the truck while the rest of the family waited on the shakes. I was sitting in the truck for almost 5 minutes before calling my husband to see what was taking so long. I then see through the window our server telling my husband that he would have them up in just a second. I watched him go over to the counter, picked up and looked at the shakes, he then said something about it to the cook and then put whipped cream on them. When my husband brought them out they began drinking theirs and had no problem. I went to put the straw in mine and realized it seemed a little thin. I tried moving the massive pile of whipped cream out of the way and found that my shake was like milk. It was extremely thin and looked very foamy. Me, being hard headed, didn't go back in to complain. We left and on the way home I began getting very mad about not having a shake to enjoy. I called the store to speak to a manager and all she said was thank you for letting me know... Then said bye. I will not being giving this store any more of...
