We Ordered a Lrg thin crust Peperoni pizza and an order of plain wings online for my family and paid with my card at 4:49pm 12/1/22. 1hr 22mins later at 6:11pm I called the restaurant inquiring about my food order #47. The woman told me that my food would leave the restaurant in 4mins and I would be the first stop on the drivers route. Cool, I thought I live 2.7mi away from the Carbone's, that should be 12mins. 35mins later At 6:45pm I called back and my calls rang through unanswered until the voicemail system picked up. After the 7th call ringing through to voicemail, I got ahold of a different woman this time. She said, "The order just left 5mins ago and the driver is new so please be nice to him". I had been very patient and respectful with each person I spoke with. 30mins later at 7:15pm I called and asked to speak with someone about a refund on order #47 because I still had not received it. I was lied to every time I politely called to inquire about my order. I even asked if I could come to the restaurant and pick up my food, I was told each time I called that the food was out and that I could not.
The manager Kevin I believe, did gave me a refund, and a $20 credit for future use and apologized for their employee's conduct.
After 2hrs 50mins the food showed up ice cold at 7:38pm. I was polite to the driver but he acted as if he knew there was an issue and the driver said to me before he left "it's not my fault, I don't even work there. They just asked me to help." There were 5 pepperoni's on the whole pizza and they looked like they were thrown on from across the room.
We are left with the feeling of never wanting to see this place of business or it's staff ever again. Terrible ethics and zero customer service skills by the employees. The manager was simply trying to put out a fire caused by individuals lying and avoiding their customers by...
Read moreI don't do well with confrontation, so I tend not to speak up when made uncomfortable in a public atmosphere. Unfortunately, this was my second and most likely last experience with this restaurant.
I ordered 2 sandwiches for pick up as I normally do. I arrived, at which point the cashier gave me my credit card receipt to sign and went to see if the sandwiches were ready. With a clear line of sight I watched the cashier ask the gentleman preparing the sandwiches when they'd be ready. He returned to tell me that they would be ready in a few minutes. I Thanked him without making eye contact because I found my gaze to be locked on the gentleman making my sandwiches; while applying the fixings he scratched his forehead head and hair-line just at the front edge of his baseball cap and I thought "calm down. He's done. There's nothing to worry about." Unfortunately, he wasn't. He continued applying fixings while periodically adjusting his baseball cap in between.
(All I could think about was the Breakfast Club scene where Ali Sheedy scratched the dandruff from her head to make snow for her drawing.)
Thinking quite possibly that it was an isolated incident, I looked for an employee who was wearing gloves. Out of the 4-6 people cooking in the kitchen, they were all wearing baseball caps, but not a single one had on gloves unless you count an oven mitten.
I complained once at another franchIse years ago that I could see the cashier (who handles CASH) handling my uncovered exposed food. I posted a Pic as well. The establishment put up a divider so customers could no longer see what was happening to their food. I hope Carbones does not consider that a resolve. I like the idea of being able to see my food prepared but have concerns about cleanliness after what...
Read moreNot having their phone number, I walked in to place my order. Ordered a large meat lover's with a side of cheese bread. The lady working the counter said it would take 20 min. I roamed around and came back about 10 minutes later to wait in the restaurant.
About 20 minutes later, I went to check on my order. The lady asked my name and went back to the kitchen to check. She came out to tell me they had not started my order.
That was only half true. The pizza was done (sitting on top of the oven) but the cheese bread was not.
So I waited another 5 minutes and she came out with my order mumbling apologies.
The food: the pizza was half cold when I got home. I live 4 minutes away. The cheese bread was soggy. When I picked it up, it started to fall apart.
Now, I understand startup issues. Have to work out the kinks. But in this case, being ignored, having cold and undercooked food, and barely given apology is not sufficient. I could have gone down to Broadway Pizza for the same thing without the quality issues nor the 40% markup charged by Carbones.
Think I'll stick to Broadway from now on. Sorry Carbones. You had your chance and...
