Can I just say Jenn is a Gem! These two Pennsylvanians just thought she was so fabulous! Seriously, She was so kind, everyone in the room loved talking with Her and She deserves The biggest round of applause and greatest sense of pride for all Her exceptional, hard work….
We were in Saint Michaels three days and are such foodies we tried several other places like Limoncello and Bistro but this by far was Our favorite, Great customer service, But Outstanding food, the Mediterranean pizza was just wow! The Buffalo chicken salad was perfection, and the Chips, oh my Lawd those Bleu cheese chips, please God don’t ever let those go away because I will be daydreaming about them until we meet again! I polished off two orders of them, I get the chips everywhere we go and these by far were the best I’ve ever had, my husband doesn’t ever like chips and loved these! The Buffalo chicken salad was the best version of itself I’ve ever had and that pizza, oh my that pizza they make is something to be remembered
I’ve never seen a place so consistently busy, so we’ll loved, so many happy faces, and such a spectacular performance time and time again all the way around as we did Here, Ava’s is a star on the Main Street restaurant walk of fame in Saint Michaels, It was truly both of our favorites, and the least expensive anywhere in town, so, you probably got the most there and for the lowest cost, which means You couldn’t make any one of their dishes for the price they charged and be hungry or prepared to share or be taking a box home with you, this restaurant is where it’s at, The spirit of the place just gleamed with kindness and a Hearty, homespun vibe, Thank You Jenn for being such a kindhearted, welcoming soul, you made the experience extra special for us, I can’t even begin to tell anyone thinking about going elsewhere or Here, choose Ava’s every single time, over anywhere else, I can’t put enough exclamation points beside their name for how wonderful this place is an what absolutely priceless memories they’ve made for us of Saint Michaels and I know will do the same for you, because of the food, the fun, and the Spectacular performance all the way around of this all-star joint! Don’t walk, Run! Go go go to Ava’s You can thank me later! Just do the same and write a review to let the world know the same thing I’m honored to share with all of you now, this place is unforgettable and deserves not to be passed by!
-Two Pennsylvanians from Lancaster County! P.S. The vibe is so genuinely cool, and Local feeling, there are so many people who visit this establishment, I can’t even begin to tell you how many people I Heard say they’re from Pennsylvania Just in My two visits and limited time sitting there, it...
Read moreI've been going to Ava's occasionally for almost 10 years, and I can always count on the spinach and artichoke dip being very good and the service/mgmt becoming increasing worse. I was there last week, sat at the bar, and ordered the artichoke dip for my meal as usual, but thought to forego the bread this time and added extra bowtie noodles. My date ordered a pizza.
When the food came out, my food looked fine, but my partner's was pretty burned, so she asked the kitchen to remake it. She was also ready for another drink, so she asked for that, too. It was still early and the restaurant wasn't full, plus you'd think you'd want to get a new drink out to the customer with the burned pizza pretty quickly, but no, the 2ND burned pizza made it out to us before that 2nd drink did.
After eating some of the pizza, my partner said the drinks weren't that good and she couldn't eat the burned half of the pizza, which we weren't paying for anyway, we just figured we'd just go. When the bill came to pay the balance, there was an extra $4 charge on it. The bartender explained that was for the additional bowties. The bread- for- pasta- exchange wasn't an even 50/50 split so an $8 meal became $12 for a few more noodles? I told her ok but that it would be nice as a customer to know next time. She looked at me like I had 3 heads and said "I just assumed you knew." When I asked "how was I supposed to know", she said she "didn't know how because she wasn't aware of the added cost either." I said, "you just explained it to me." And she responded "oh, the computer just adds fees on the bill sometimes and I don't know why."
Throughout this whole event, the manager walked by 4 or 5 times. He was aware of the burned pizza, the 2nd burned pizza, the slow service, the $4 charge, but he did nothing to help. He didn't ask what the problem was, ask if he could make us a drink, check on our food, nothing. Every restaurant messes up food and every restaurant might have a bad employee, but when you have a bad manager that just doesn't care, that's when the whole place starts to...
Read moreI LOVE posting a review on google to give props to great service but in this case I am doing the EXACT opposite of that. I am sending out a serious WARNING to those very friendly nice kind people out there on weekend vacations trying to get away from it all just chillin then go to grab a glass of wine & some pizza that you may run into real bad service if you eat at this establishment. I would hate for you to have your lovely evening tainted just like ours was.
I hate to be so dramatic but seriously when 2 nice quiet ladies (this was not me obviously) go to pick up pizza and come back nearly in tears because not only the person taking their order but the MANAGER was such a jerk to them you have to wonder what is wrong with these people. Long story short they took our order (large order- we drank a lot of wine wanted a lot of pizzas- 30 min later we asked about the pizzas and they were like "oh you just made that order," umm no sir we are starving now been waiting 30 min, basically called us liars, we asked to speak to manager who confirmed they didn't give 2 flying fish that we were upset or starving or how long we had been waiting then made us wait longer. PS all of this went down in front of all other customers, further evidence of the lack of genuine human kindness.
Obviously business is good enough they think that its acceptable to treat their customers like dirt. Well I would suggest NOT eating there and hopefully their lack of respect towards people will reflect in their cash registers. Keep walking South on Talbot and hit up Rusticana or Sam's I hear they are...
