My fiancé and I just had a fabulous experience at Plates at 208! We started our meal with the Greek salad and the milk and honey flight—an absolutely perfect way to begin. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the cheese was especially delicious. We were already excited for the entrées to come! Our waitress was both kind and professional, making the evening even more enjoyable. When our entrées arrived, a beautifully presented lamb shank and pork chop, we were thrilled! And once we took our first bites, we were even more impressed. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. The ambiance was immaculate, elegant yet relaxed, and we found ourselves laughing and enjoying the vibe all night long. For dessert, we indulged in their house-made baklava, and it was pure heaven. Truly the perfect sweet ending to a memorable evening. I genuinely can’t wait to plan another trip to St. Michaels just to dine at Plates at 208 again! We were in town for a few days and tried several other restaurants for lunch and dinner, but honestly, we were disappointed—none of them came close to the experience we had here. Plates at 208 truly set a high bar. From start to finish, everything was exceptional, and it completely elevated our trip.

We stumbled upon this place for a late night/last minute drink and I’m so happy we did! The kitchen, unfortunately had already closed, but the owner was so kind and offered to make us something. We did decline but how’s that for service! We did end up getting a piece of baklava and it was perfect! The beer offering was slim but the liquor selection was impressive; we even broke in a bottle of cognac. The bartender/manager was so kind and the owner and her hung out with us until we left. We wanted to go back for dinner but it didn’t fit in the plans so we WILL be back and can’t wait for the full experience. Update- 3/2025. Back again and as always Ida and Joanne serve the best chats, laughs and food! Y’all did not disappoint for Chocolate fest. Thank you and walk all the way down the Main Street people, dont miss out on this spot!!

An amazing meal from start to finish. I am a very picky eater and there is literally something for everyone. My husband and I went for his birthday dinner. We had the Sahara chips and OMG I couldn't stop eating them. The fresh baked, house made focaccia bread was delicious. My filet was perfectly cooked with a generous portion of lump crab meat and shrimp on top. Beautiful plate presentations too. The owner and staff are so friendly and professional. They serve a palette cleanser before your entree is served. Great wine as well. Fresh house made desserts, we had the Grand Marnier Creme Brulee and the decadent cheesecake which was garnished with beautiful dried flowers. Definitely plan on taking your time when you done here, you are going to want to savor every bite. My Chef hubby was even impressed. I can't wait to go back.

We had a dinner reservation at 8 pm on 12/10/22 (10 people)... we did not get our food untill almost after 10 pm. They were out of multiple items. Service was absolutely horrible. Basically we were ignored all that time. Whenever our server Jenanne was interacting with us she was crossing the lines, acting like we were "buds", that kind of behavior is unacceptable. No one was bussing our table. Empty glasses, bottles were piled up. They gave us some a small "appetizer" plate on the house because we had been waiting forever... which was enough only for 2 people ... needless to say it was tasteless. Finally we asked manager/owner how much longer it would take (we were ready to just leave), so he ran to the kitchen to check. We did not see him after that, not once to check on us. Food was coming out one item at a time... same dish with 10 mins intervals ... that does not make any sense, server was confused who gets what, even thou she was writing down our orders in order we were sitting around the table. Food had absolutely no flavor considering you are getting $40-50 entrees. Manager did not come out after we were done. It was the worst restaurant experience ever. We definitely will not be back. I would not even give one star to this place. Do not recommend. We could have spend that $1000 dollars somewhere else and get much better experience. The restaurant was not even busy that night! Unless they have a different understanding of what it actually means for the restaurant to be busy. That was not the way we wanted to spend our last night in...

If I could give this place a 0 for human decency, I would. As a full-time resident of Maryland’s Eastern Shore and a regular visitor to St. Michaels and the surrounding areas, I’m deeply disappointed by the lack of care this establishment shows for maintaining the standards and charm of a historic Eastern Shore town. It’s clear the proprietor has little regard for the community or its values. We will absolutely continue to visit the area—we live here, after all—but we will never support this business.

And the owner’s defensive response only reinforces my point. In a small-town business, the right approach would be to take responsibility—not to dismiss concerns and alienate both visitors and locals who are simply trying to enjoy their time here. Blaming another local business instead of reflecting on your own actions is not just unprofessional—it’s a terrible look. You might want to reconsider how you handle feedback because this kind of attitude won’t...
