I travel for a work a lot and I have tried Mexican food all over the country especially Texas. From authentic mexican food to gas station tacos, elite restaurants to mom-pop restaurants and almost all mexican fast food restaurants- Moe's, Qdoba, Chipotle, Chuy's, Baja Fresh, Cabo Fresh, etc.- you name it I have tried. I always loved Chuy's coz of their authenticity level, with range of dishes, margaritas and dessert in TX and Cabo Fresh in NY (they serve margaritas) for their fresh food. All the rest are pretty same with some variations.
I was recently in Stamford CT meeting a client in Urby's and was craving for mexican food. Saw GuacTime and decided to give a try as I had not heard of them. I was surprised with the service and food quality. They had Birria Tacos which I never saw in most other restaurants and was very good. Serving size was good. And they had Tres Leches too. Only thing I wished more was a frozen margarita, but settled for pineapple Jarritos.
I will come again and try more from their...
Read moreI stumbled across this spot while browsing on the Uber Eats app and decided to try it out with a pickup order. Parking was easy to find late at night, and when I went inside, the place was clean, well lit, and spacious. Service was quick and straightforward, even with a slight language barrier, which was not a problem at all.
Let me start by saying it is on the pricier side, but the food made it worth it. I ordered four birria tacos. While they were not the traditional authentic style, they were absolutely delicious. Juicy, spicy, and flavorful with a perfectly crispy shell that held everything together. The toppings and ingredients were very fresh, and the tacos were packed generously, nothing skimpy about them.
I would order them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended if you are craving flavorful tacos and do not mind spending a little extra...
Read moreI don't get it. Where are all the good reviews coming from? Went with a coworker. He has birria taco's and I got the high protein bowl. We both got a side of chips w/ guac & salsa. The salsa is sad. The guac looked old, but wasn't completely horrible. The food on the other wasn't great. Same kind of style as chipotle, but clearly a cheap knock off. Coworker was not a fan of his tacos. He complained of feeling sick afterwards. The taco's from California Tortilla on Atlantic looked better then these. My high protein bowl, has that chipotle style to it as well, while lacking all the flavor. Looks like a place an office worker would go, & say the food is great. IT'S NOT. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Go across the street to Cantina Mexicana, at least there it's authentic. The atmosphere is 1000% better.
Will not be coming here again. It was a...
