Poor service, and racist servers/workers. If you go there and speak Spanish, or are a cute young girl, then you might get good service. Men, especially black men who pay their money are seemingly not welcome.
I don't care if anything happened before. Don't treat paying customers as if everyone is the same. I am a paying customer, and I don't deserve to be treated like a criminal or someone not worthy of service.
I was ignored and bypassed by several Spanish workers behind the counter who ignored me and kept taking orders from women who walked in. They were NOT delivery or door dash workers.
A lady comes in after me, gets served, and gets her order, of which she ordered in real time, as the worker asked in English why she didnt call and order beforehand. She even points to me, like she knew I was in line first, and they waved her off, like, "oh don't worry, we can serve you".
Guess what language she spoke?
They make her order and she even feels awkward as she walks past me, knowing that I was standing there first.
I don't care if you're long time friends. You don't treat people this way. Oh, but I suppose it was ok, because she also spoke Spanish...
Finally one racist takes pity on me and takes my order. A single bagel with cream cheese (lok spread). Nothing fancy. Then they proceed to take another 15 mins to make it, lol. I am not exaggerating. I would NOT have waited that long any other time, but my girlfriend really wanted a bagel with loks, so I endured it.
However needless to say I think I will probably find another bagel store. I make over six figures at my job, and another six figures at my personal business a year. I really don't need to put up with racist idiots over a bagel. Just wanted to share my experience and leave my review, which is my right. People should know how "certain" races are treated at these places.
GARBAGE, racist, nasty service, but at least the bagel was somewhat cheap. There's that I suppose.
So don't worry, you will get awesome service and speedy service. Just don't be black, or a male. Try your best to be female, preferably Spanish or white. You will walk in and out in 2 minutes, even with an order of 5 bagels. For black men, wait your 20-25 mins or more for yours.
Enjoy...

Hmmm, I don 't know, but food is happiness, happiness should be shared, so food should be shared.
I have been going to Liz Sue as part of my morning routine now since 2013. I have had the opportunity to get to know the owners and some of the employees. The bagels are the best around, and so is the customer service.
If you go during prime time (typically anytime after 0700 until about 0900 in the morning), you may expect a line out the door, especially now during the #covid19season of life we all currently live with. But the wait is worth it. Bagels, breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches, pizza, cinnamon rolls, muffins, man, the list goes on and on. But it is definitely the best around to be had.
If you are looking for a pick me up, look no further. These guys are the greatest.
Thanks Pete and Tony for making my morning routine the best I could as for. Can't wait to get back and grab myself some "BAAAAAGELS" as Pete so brightly says when he answers the phone!
See you fellaz...
Read moreI stopped here for a bagel sandwich because I heard they are the best bagels in town. I'm sorry, but you must have some terrible bagels around here if that's true. Mind you... it certainly wasn't a bad bagel... much better than the mass-produced bagels you get at the supermarket or bagel franchise stores. But, it was nowhere near the list of best bagels I've had. What struck me most strongly was that there was no flat top grille to be seen in the store. Bacon and eggs were reheated in a commercial oven type device. If I wanted a sub-par sandwich prepared like that, I'd go to Starbucks. Any small bagel store, bodega, or street cart in NYC or NJ will give you a much better breakfast sandwich experience. If you really want an amazing, top 10 bagel experience, invest the hour and trek...
