My experience at Marshalls started off great: I spent an extended period of time trying on the 40 or so pieces of clothing that I collected. Almost all of them were jeans, it's very hard for me to find jeans that fit. Since I had so many pieces of clothing, the dressing room person made me leave the extra clothes in my cart. While I was changing, someone put something on my cart and when I came out, I asked if there was a better place I could leave it so it wouldn't be disturbed. There wasn't.
I found one pair of jeans that fit me, I was so relieved! I had another 10 pairs to try on so I had to leave the good pair I found on the cart. When I came out, they were gone. Someone had taken them from my cart. Fine. That sucks.
Most of the women working there were very apologetic, were willing to make an announcement asking about it and even helped me look for them in the store. However, one of the women who seemed to be a manager, became extremely defensive, combative and accusatory. Saying things like, "it's just one stupid pair of jeans, just go find another." Which is silly in light of how many I'd tried on to find the one pair. Becoming rude, aggressive and talking poorly about Marshall's clothing is an odd way for a manager to handle this kind of situation. Needless to say, if you shop at this Marshalls and something goes wrong, be prepared to be abused by...
Read moreI normally enjoy shopping at Marshalls at Stamford, but 2 times this week I had a uncomfortable experience because of the employees. When I did a return in the morning, the lady made it known that she would not have a lot of money in the register after that return. I told her she could give me a giftcard if needed, but she just ignored me and kept complaining without giving me solution. In the end she gave me my money back, but was visibly upset and made me feel uncomfortable about that whole experience. Today I decided to buy some clothes, another lady did not like I removed the hanger from one of the dresses when checking out. She just yelled " STOP DOING THAT" . It's normally appreciated by the other cashiers when I help, but yelling at me, which could have been communicated differently as if I did something super bad was not the way. Not sure if I will come back here if this is how employees communicate...
