Taqueria La Frontera — Restaurant in Stamford

We’re really excited to have an authentic Mexican spot so close to home! We tried the Birria, Al Pastor, and Chorizo tacos, and overall, they were all delicious. The flavors were rich, and we could tell a lot of care went into preparing them.

That said, we did feel the Al Pastor tacos could use a bit more pineapple to balance and enhance the flavor of the pork, along with a little extra seasoning. Additionally, the green sauce seemed a bit watered down—we’d love to see a thicker consistency to really bring out its flavor.

On a positive note, the horchata was absolutely delicious! We’re really glad this new place opened up, and we’re looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu. Thank you for bringing authentic flavors...

I stopped by Taqueria La Frontera in Stamford and ordered the birria quesadillas and birria tacos. The flavor was okay, but the meat was very tough to chew and honestly tasted like it might have been from the day before. The tacos and quesadillas could definitely use more cheese — they felt a little dry. The rice on the side was also pretty bland and dry, which was disappointing. Was excited to try this place. I’m disabled but walked 6 blocks up the street to try the food at 7pm on a Tuesday and when I got to the door I was rudely told they were closed even though the open sign was on and people were inside eating.
