Gofer Ice Cream @ Ridgeway, Stamford — Restaurant in Stamford

I walked in around 7:55pm and asked for a root beer twist cone but the guy told me the flavor twist machine was unplugged. I asked for a regular vanilla cone and the guy working gave me a horrendous looking cone, basically a blob of ice cream on a cone. To be honest McDonalds makes a better looking cone because they actually put effort and swirl it. I then asked for a thick milkshake and the guy gave me a watery milk shake which I also didn’t accept. The only thing that he got right was the razzle that I asked for. The worker was rude and forced me to pay for all treats, even the milkshake we didn’t drink. This is my second bad experience here. Got to the store around 7:50 and the store looked closed with the only worker sitting down on his phone. I ordered a vanilla cone and was handed a smushed cone without any swirls (the boy working just kinda plopped the ice cream on). I told the worker I couldn’t accept this cone as it would literally fall off the cone and asked for a thick milkshake instead. Was then given a cup of milk with some chunks of ice cream in it. Was asked for this to be remade and was told no because he’ll get in trouble. The worker was super rude and forced me to pay for the ice cream even tho I left with none. Got to the store at 9:27, they close even before 9:30 not 10 PM (what the hours on their business profile and on their door say). I was yelled at by the rude girl who didn’t want to work anymore tonight. Almost didn’t serve me until I called them out on their hours going against them denying us service.

I’ve been here a couple times and really like their ice cream, but after this encounter I won’t be back. I worked in an ice cream store when I was younger for years, unless the door was locked even if we were closed we’d still serve because it’s misleading and was on us if not locked.
