We recently visited this restaurant on 6/17. We had an experience that was worth noting. The waitress notified us they only had a couple dishes remaining on one of the specials. The one item was the Swordfish. So my wife ordered it. A few min went by and the manager came by and apologized because they sold out of it. So my wife ordered another seafood dish. No issues and we were not upset at all, it happens. The server then brought out the two appetizers we ordered. By surprise she brought out a 3rd appetizer on the house. The manager and waitress came over and apologized once again for running out of the Swordfish and told us the 3rd appetizer was free. Keep in mind, we were not upset and it wasn’t expected or necessary they did this. It was a very nice gesture, and this nice gesture was basically how the rest of the dinner turned out. The service was excellent, the food was fabulous, the free appetizer was amazing, and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. I almost forgot, thank you bartender, our drinks were great, especially my Old Fashioned. It was perfect!
The one picture is an appetizer, Steak Tatar. As you can see it was almost gone. Outstanding!!
Thank you to the entire staff at Allen Street Grill. It was our first time at the restaurant and it won’t be our...
Read moreI had a lovely experience at the Allen Street Grill. It had been close to eight years since my last visit. We had no wait for dinner with a reservation and we had a booth in the bar area, overlooking South Allen Street. We tried the ravioli of the day and the cedar plank salmon, and both were very tasty, with hearty portions. The menu is now more "Spat's" inspired, due to some collaboration with the restaurant formerly located a block away above what was the Rathskellar. I had not expected this, but the fusion made for very interesting menu options and I wanted to try several different items. I had a sparkling cocktail, which was delicious. We also had one of the other signature rum-based cocktails which was very strong (but no complaints here!). The service was speedy and friendly, and we were well taken care of our entire meal. The dress was a mix of casual and slightly more dressy, and the restaurant is certainly a less casual crowd than that of the attached Corner Room. Overall, between the food, service, and atmosphere we had a delightful experience and I look forward to returning in the...
Read moreMade a reservation online for my Husband's 34th Birthday. Made a special request online to have a whiskey sour made when we got there, the amazing bartender totally came through. The food is not cheap, and they give you appropriately sized portions so you will likely not be taking anything home as leftovers. Calamari comes grilled, tender, and dressed in a perfect sauce to highlight each of the fresh ingredients. The ribye was perfectly cooked to medium rare perfection, and the salt & vinegar smashed potatoes were perfectly cooked and super unique. Trout could not have been better, flakey yet moist, not fishy. Desserts were fantastic the apple cake with the Wasson Farm ice cream and pumpkin seed crumble was unique and something I WILL eat again. All of the servers were very attentive and always available. If you go here, try it all. Ask questions to the knowledgeable staff. Allen Street Grill did a phenomenal job updating and...
