-July 14 2024: Went to the Lion's Den and had a good time up until I mentioned to close my tab. A mixup occurred and my tab closed but I never signed a tip and I didn't get my card back.
I approached later to close out my tab, and it was closed with no sight of the card. The Bartender was a bit blunt and told me that once it's on the bar; they aren't responsible - something to that effect.
I talked with several security staff that instructed me to return at closing and have a member of staff look once more and to cancel my card in the meantime.
Unfortunately, I am without a phone and have to do that monday when my bank is open.
Interestingly enough, this occurred to another person as well this same night; and it wreaks of someone robbing people of their cards.
Now, I have so many bills coming up and it looks like I am a delinquent now, and I have to try to get an extension because I have no other cards on file and they won't take a bank number.
I'm so beyond frustrated and I think since this has occurred twice in the same night that Practices and processes by the bartenders have to be renewed. Bartenders should physically ensure that a customer's card is given back to them. It's a bit bizarre that this occurred twice in the same night. It's not impossible but "twice" is a pattern.
I am thankful for the staff being patient and understanding.
I can't leave a 5 star review though based on what occurred (I'm assigning no fault to any singular person) and while waiting outside I was essentially boxed in as a fight was set to occur right next to me between to very drunk and verbal men that called for others on both sides to get involved. Many bystanders ( perhaps friends) of the parties; had to stop things from escalating and the staff that did get eyes on were watching/monitoring.
It just occurred out of their eyes for quite sometime as most of the security staff was inside cleaning/etc.
I will have to monitor my bank and now wait until after my gym membership is charged in order to go again. This literally happened at the most inopportune time and I'm essentially penniless and phoneless and confined to work and home life.
For the love of all things decent, please retrain staff to physically hand cards and receipts and not to just leave the card/receipts on the counter. Commonsense would tell you to ensure you then collect the receipts and enter tips. I never signed a receipt so this was definitely not properly closed out!!! my bank is trackign $12 in purchases which were mine but I will have to monitor any tip that might be entered as it was not to my doing as I never got a receipt or a card.
Please just retrain bartenders. It's a good refresher to all, regardless of time worked/experience/or tenure at...
Read moreThe bar is decent, but Paige the bartender brings the whole place down. She’s rude, inattentive, and acts like she’s doing you a favor just by serving you. Despite barely providing any service, she still expects a tip and gives you attitude if she doesn’t get one. Definitely not someone who should be working in hospitality. Never coming back, everyone at the bar knows that she’s a problem and that she crashes out. She is the most unprofessional, unhelpful bartender. Do not recommend for anyone at state college....
Read moreI don’t go to penn state I was just visiting there for the white out game. I don’t think a worse bar exist in the whole United States college scene. Saying the Lion’s Den sucks is an understatement. The drinks are like drinking gasoline. They reject half your friend group after they take there cover money/lineleap money and scam them. The bouncers are absolute scum bags. Don’t waist your money. Do...
