Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Staunton

I’ll start by saying that as someone who’s worked retail & food - I HATE leaving a negative review. But honestly, some of the employees need some constructive critique.

I haven’t been to this location before, and I probably won’t come back. I was looking to try something new. I stopped by today after a long morning in CVille. When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted but asked, loudly, if I was picking up. I said no. Once I found the beginning of the line myself, I was simply stared at by a young man with glasses. No greeting, again. I told him what I wanted and requested a certain sauce, then was rudely told that they didn’t have that. (The sauce was actually the oil, I found.) So I said never mind, and asked for the closest thing he could do for the sub I wanted.

I made my way, feeling VERY rushed, through all the employees and checked out - getting subs and drinks.

The drink station was FILTHY. There was soda all over the floor and trash on the counter. Very clear there was a spill and nothing has been cleaned. I understand things happen - but plop a wet floor sign and get to it when you can.

To finish, imma just say these young employees need some more training in their hospitality, and communication. As someone who’s not been here before, I walked out pretty mad and dissatisfied with the customer service. I Had to repeat my order several times, they oddly didn't even seem to know where they were. Then they rang me up without letting me put my rewards number in and forgot to make my order, when the person behind me left with their order I went up to see why they weren't making any sandwiches and why they didn't ask me how we wanted it. They made me wait for the next person that just walked in and then asked how we wanted it made and then tried to charge me again! Good thing I requested a receipt the first time. Food wasn't bad but it wasn't all that fresh either, the counters were filthy, and the service ensured I wont return. Probably be closed in a year or two like most things...

Incredible experience for a Vegan! We were immediately greeted upon entrance. Restrooms were very clean. It was evident someone put effort into making them fresh and ready for customers. Navigating the menu as a vegan meant getting a salad bowl. The gentlemen working this morning were super kind, patient, and supportive. They instantly became solution minded in helping me find a way to enjoy their menu. Considering I really wanted veggies they built me a salad and added seasoning to spice it up. I’m so grateful to have encountered them in my hunt for food while traveling. I would 10/10 make this exit one of my stops when making this trip again. Thank you gentlemen for being...
