King Buffet — Restaurant in Staunton

I was really impressed by King Buffet, the food was great. The General Tsao's is the way I like it, tangy and vinegary without a heavy breading or being overly sweet. It was fried to a perfect crisp as well, and if you can get it when it's out fresh, oh man... so good. I also appreciated the broccoli, it was cooked but not unto death, so there was some crunch and heft to it. The fried rice was very well done, a good blend of meat bits, veggies, and rice, with a rich flavor. I very much enjoyed the soup, the egg drop nailed the slimy texture perfectly, and it had some flavor to it, it wasn't just tepid and eggy but had a bit of garlic or onion to it, didn't need much pepper at all. Overall, there was a nice selection of main dishes and a good desert option as well, they had excellent ice cream including some fancier selections like cookies and cream. We walked in the guy sitting behind the counter. Never looked up from his phone, didn't acknowledge us,We were standing there, never said a word. He was on his phone texting and playing a game. All he said was go have a seat mind you We never been to this place before we're not from here We get to a table, the lady comes over and says. What do you want to drink ,Remind you. We have not sit down yet. We haven't got any food he didn't answer her. She kept asking my husband so he says What do you have? She rolls her eyes and says it again service was awful , where we are from a Buffet You would have got more Some of the pants were empty they started reaching over people putting foot out why we're trying to get food and the service would have been excellent....

This one star means ZERO (0)! We went there about 9:30 and it was empty and thought it was because of the time but I guess it was because of the horrible dog food that they provide. My brother and I ordered spicy chicken... we waited for about 10mins. Our meals came in a brown paper bag, staples up (red flag). When we got home, ready to eat, low and behold it was wasn’t spicy chicken, it was actually spicy chicken skin! Or some kind of animal skin 🤢🤮... seemed as if they boiled and pour sauce over it... maybe they thought we were dogs and that was our kind of food (we’re black).
