Stopped by after staying in the area for a running event. I am vegetarian by choice, but after the race a “cheat day” was in order. My consisted of: a single cheese burger, 6 piece chicken tenders, fries with regular cheese, and a (small sized) regular chocolate shake. Since the occasion was a mini-vacation, the cost factor was not something I paid too attention to (the total was in the $20s range for reference). Here’s my take a a first time eating at the chain, and as a regular consumer of meat. The photos depict the bag containing the goods, in addition to the chocolate shake.
Food Review Section:
The cheese burger looked like a commercial ad and tasted nothing short of savoury, the degree cooked was just right with a blanket of American cheddar rested on the patty, and not too greasy for a burger. No part was assembled in a rush for this two part assembly, and for the portion it resembled a softball that was lightly squished in the shape of a burger. The fries were crinkle fries with some cheese on top, the photo of the item is not deceiving on their website. I was satisfied with the cheese not smothering/overwhelming per each bite. Some people want a portion of plain fries too. The chicken tenders consisted of white layers of chicken that were the size of an Apple Watch face. They paired well with the BBQ sauce (slightly sweeter/ a tad more runny than traditional sauce). Last but not least, the shake. The first impression I had was how dark the shake’s color packed underneath the transparent lid. Taste wise, it was smooth but more on the rich chocolate side think of a shake version of a milk chocolate Hershey bar. Maybe the holiday specialty variations will taste equally as great? Great food deserves a great dessert to top off the meal. Not going to lie I felt sad to waving goodbye to the Portillos down the road, Stake Shack is the optimal choice for this visit.
Service Review Section:
We used the drive through instead of going into the establishment. The inviting large windows revealed plenty of people inside ordering in addition to more customers seated outside on this sun filled Sunday afternoon. The waiting period was fine with two operating lanes, in addition to a person with a tablet taking card order payments to speed up the process. The attitude of all the employees was nice and friendly (some variants result in different outcomes despite customer service jobs being stressful). Navigating in and out of the parking lot was standard with no notable issues. Overall, I would eat here another time if visiting the area on cheat day occasion, or at least order a refreshing ice...
Read moreSlowest drive through on the planet! Is this Steak & Shake rebranded??? It defjnitely looks/tastes the same. Over rated and over priced sliders! The food is basically identical to a Steak & Shake rebranded, just double or triple the price. It's basically their slider for $6.69! This is a $2-2.50 slider!
The burgers don't even come with onions, etc. The cheese was some sort of weird squeeze liquid cheese on our burgers (I think that may be the Shake Sauce)? Overall, it was just a small average slider. Nothing special, but very disappointed at the size for the price. was just a tiny slider for nearly $7!?! No onions and very limited toppings. Especially for that money, and that's taking Inflation into consideration!
My 6 year old ordered a hot dog, but it was just a plain butterflied hot dog. Nothing on ot at all. Just a plain butterflied split dog on a bun. I don't think it could be any more plain and boring for the money.
We were all very dissappointed with the VALUE of our meal and felt ripped off! Not sure how anyone can consider this good value gof badicdllh what used to be about $20-$25 @ a Steak & Shake???
Overall, we paid $68 for the equivalent of 3 Steak & Shake sliders, a hot dog, 4 burnt frozen fries, and 3 shakes. We could have had a REAL high quality meal for that price. They do have nice lights and friendly service at the drive through though on a positive note! Just need to either make the burgers larger or a more reasonable price, since the burgers tasted good. Just not big enough for that price. Fresh cut fries is almost required now adays, but these were just thin frozen burnt fries. Nothing to...
Read moreTHIS IS BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT SHAKE SHACK IN THE 10 YEARS I HAVE BEEN EATING HERE!!! I walked in and all of the co workers were talking amongst themselves because the store was not busy at all so I decided to wait near the pickup area, still not greeted and waited 15 minutes past the time my food was supposed to be ready and then went up to employee to inquire about my order and it seemed as if they completely forgot about my order so then they started making it which is now 30 minutes past when it supposed to be ready. Upon coming home, I was excited to finally get my food because I was craving a burger at Shake Shack even though there are over 10 burger restaurants next to this location. So I came home to eat stale fries and chicken bites that seemed like they were pre packaged and sitting there for a while. It was so bad that I had to warm them up in my own air fryer because of cold they were. Even the shake tasted off and the only thing that seemed fresh was the burger but even that wasn’t as good as they used to be. I go to Shake Shack and spend my money here over anywhere because of the experience and quality of food but when that’s gone, I have no reason to come back when there is so much competition out there especially next door. I don’t know if or when I’ll ever go back after this experience. Very disappointing because I really enjoyed Shake Shack...
