Oooh Weee sometimes you just have to get back to basics. With our vegetarian daughter away, we decided it was time for a meatapalooza. So off toTexas Roadhouse for a very late lunch/early dinner. We found out that at 4:30 you don't have any wait to get in (note: that all changed at 5:00 when the place suddenly started to pack up (on a Monday.)) All three of us ordered STEAKS of course. An 8 oz. Hand Cut Ribeye for my son. An 8 oz. (I think) New York Strip for my wife. I took on the 11oz. Hand Cut Ribeye. The sides were steak fries (can't get enough steak) and loaded mashed for my son. Sweet Potato and fresh veggies for my wife (she's watching out for all of us.) I had the cup of chili, and a loaded baked potato. Of course the meal comes with soft, warm rolls with cinnamom butter which tastes great. I do miss the peanuts (hate you Covid.) All the steaks were prepared exactly as ordered, and they all hand a nice carmelized char on the outside and great grill marks (tons of flavor in every one of them.) My son loved his steak fries and lloaded mashed. He had a Blue something (Raspberry) Lemonade. Our awesome waitress BREE had refills at the ready before he even finished, and he was impressed by that. My wife said her sweet potato was really good and the fresh veggies tasted really good as well. My chili was perfect. Just the right heat, just the right amount of beans and meat and a nice gravy with flavor flavor flavor. The loaded baked potato was HUGE and the fresh bacon really does the trick. They also do what I do at home, and butter with sea salt the outside of the potato. That extra layer of goodness is the difference between a good baked potato and a truly great baked potato. We had enough bread left to bring home (they do not skimp, and will get you more if you want.) We got more and didn't even have to ask for them. BREE our waitress was just FANTASTIC and we tipped her more because of it (she earned her tip.) I truly love Texas Roadhouse as does my meat eater portion of the family. The price is very much in line with everything you get. If for some weird reason you have never been to this location at Mound Rd. (sort of) and M59 (sort of) get here soon. Just look up the location in that general area and you'll find it. YOU WON'T BE SORRY, BECAUSE IT'S SUPER GOOD.
UPDATE! We took pictures of everything with my phone. I instaled a new micro sd card recently, and it appears to be having some issues. None of the pictures we took are visible as pictures. Just the error icon by each photo today, and a few from the past couple of days. We even previewed every photo in the phone app, before moing on Sorry everybody, but in my description try to imagine gow good everything looked. We even took a picture of the strings of cheese hanging three inches above my chili (I know all of you can imagine that picture.)
4-28-23 Update. Still great and still recommend the hand cut sirloin steak. As usual if you get there in the 4:30 range your wait will be small if at all. We were told 15 which turned in to 5 minutes. Large...
Read moreOk, first thing let me say I love Texas Road House and rarely have issues significant enough to really bring up. Everyone has a bad day and in the life of a service industry such as a restaurant, they aren't exempt and should be expected from time to time. However, in this case I am not only disappointed but actually had to laugh because it was so da#n ridiculous. I walked up alone and asked if I could get a seat. The young lady advised me they weren't taking any further reservations at the moment because they had an eight hour wait time. Completely in shock and believing I had to have heard something wrong, I asked her to repeat her response, which she did. I responded in shock and laughing... did you just say 8 hours? Yes sir she replied. I again responded with fact and unfortunately maybe a little sarcasm... I said it is literally impossible for you to have an 8 hour wait... and as she attempted to state it again, I interrupted her and said.... no, you close in like 4 hours. She seemed shocked at my statement. She then advised me I could try the bar to which I did. Later the bar tender asked a few people how long they had to wait. Everyone was pleasant and when she heard my story, I guess she decided to take it to management. No big deal honestly; I really didn't give it much thought after getting seated. But what bothers me here is that management didn't even come by to apologize or something. I mean I wouldn't have raised it to that level but knowing that it had, management should have come by to at least say something... that's what you do, you are in the service industry and explaining to customers goes a long way... and believe it or not, customers will appreciate that. Now, moving onto the food, thank you. The food was really good and cooked as it should be. Additionally, the bar staff did a great job and I'd like to recognize Celest for her great work.
Thanks so much for a pretty descent experience. And yes I would recommend them.... buy maybe on a...
Read moreI brought 13 people here for my daughter's graduation family dinner on Tues July 11 at 5:00. I had tried to call ahead for our party, but they explained they will not take a call-head party, and that we could not join the waitlist for any group over 6 people. They told us to come to the restaurant and when everyone was there they would set up an area for us. They were not very busy, with lots of open seating when we arrived and while we waited. We asked if they could seat us in a large area off to the side, which had booths and a large table with separate chairs that looked like it would work for one of our family members who had just had hip surgery with low mobility, using a cane. They refused to seat us in this area, saying they could not open it, and instead crammed us into 2 6-person booths back to back in a busy aisleway. (This was quite uncomfortable for our hip surgery family member.) Our food was good, and the 2 servers were quite efficient and friendly. However, we had a bug in someone's beer, and long hair in someone's food. We notified the staff, and they replaced the drink, and joked that someone else at another table also had a bug in their drink. They did not replace the food with hair. They sat other customers in the side area where we had asked to sit. (Not sure why they told us it was closed and refused to seat us there.) We paid full price for our meals, and there wasn't any attempt to apologize or compensate us for the bug & hair in our food & drink. We did not have a good experience for my daughter's graduation dinner. Unless there are changes made at the restaurant or their policies, I do not recommend any group larger than 6 people to eat at this restaurant. They seemed annoyed about having to deal with a large group. It put a damper on an evening that was supposed to be a fun celebration. I am open to Texas Roadhouse reaching out to make this right for us, and I'm willing to update my review to reflect any...
