Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Steubenville

I really think this place needs a good update or employees that take pride in their employment there. The second we walked in we noticed the place wasn't that busy, but it was also 4pm on a Monday. The hostess was on his phone which then followed up with him greeting us and sitting us at the smallest booth known to man. Our server was great, and attentive and stayed that way through our entire dining experience there. No complaints there! We ordered our food and our appetizer came out quickly and was hot and tasted great. My chicken wrap was just okay, tasted a little off but I was able to get past it. After we finished our meal, I went to use the restroom. I walked past multiple employees just standing around not doing anything (which fine, it's not busy I get it) but as I'm walking to the bathroom past the tables by the bar area, there were napkins all over the floor just laying there not being picked up by the employees who are just standing around, same with straw wrappers. I know they've seen them, because I instantly did! I get to the bathroom, and the bathroom smelled awful, the floors, doors, sink , everything was gross! I washed my hands, and to no surprise, no employee still picked up all that garbage on the floor and what do you know they're still standing around. I get back to my table, and just look around the place and notice the hostess is still on the his phone..We then just pay our check and leave. Not even a few hours later I was so violently ill from the food I ate there that being that sick alone will not send me back there. I'm not writing the review to be solely negative, mainly to just bring awareness to hopefully the management staff about their employees taking pride in their work environment. Hopefully corporate can do some major renovations to this restaurant, because it sure needs it, and I hope the employees can keep it that way. Please look further in to the food prep as food poisoning is serious and I know that your food there 100% made me ill. I hope no one else got as...

What a joke this place was. We visited for my daughter's 5th birthday. She wore a crown and everyone who worked there wished her a happy birthday. We were sat in the area where the waitress also works the To-go orders. The receipt from the last customer was still on the table making me wonder exactly how clean thay table was. We saw our waitress three times the 2 hours we were there, once to take our drinks orders, once to give us our drinks, and lastly when she gave us our check. She spent the rest of the time answering the phone while the manager stood right beside her with his hands on his hips.

A couple sitting beside us in the bar area had finished eating their food and was ordering drinks was talking to my daughter and having a good time. They finished their drinks paid their bill and left. Another couple came in. They ordered their drinks and appetizers and meals and alcoholic beverages before we got our meals. We had been there 45 minutes before the couple showed up.

So we were sat at a dirty table, mostly ignored by the wait staff, our orders took forever compared to tables right beside us, and my wife was charged for two meals with sides without getting the sides. I really never want to go back to this place if this is the typical...

This visit was sub par at best. Even with it being mother's Day it was "as busy if not less then a normal Sunday at 3 pm"

Our waitress Brandy barely checked in. No status update on our food and did not ask if we wanted drink refills (despite it being extremely obvious that the glasses were low on drinks and should have prompted a "would you like a refill?" I had to ask and she seemed inconvenienced by me asking and when the drink was dropped off it was a quick drop off no words said.

As far as the food goes. We got the new Bacon chicken fries and don't get me wrong I love ranch as much as the next Midwestern (but this was drowning in it) and was kinda lack luster.

My wife's steak was almost hard like a rock (it was asked medium well which is a little pink on the center and able to be chewed)

My meal was the four cheese pasta with the honey pepper chicken.

It was cold when I got it and nothing like the picture.

The best part of that dish was my bread stick (which don't get me wrong the bread stick was delicious but the fact that was the best part was disappointing)
