10/16/2025 This is my most recent review. I don't think they know who is making these reviews so I will change my photo. Once again we have ordered ceviche aaaaand..... It was crap! We keep going back because when its fresh it's decent. Not the best, but best within 2 mile radius. I can make about 20 different ceviches fresh at home on a regular basis. The waitress (In front of a manager) tried to explain that the reason for the gummy shrimps, squishy tomatoes and soggy cucumber was because of lime juice as it cooks the shrimp. Ummm, No..... You cook the shrimps in lime juice for the desired time you like the shrimps to taste. The Less time (about 10-15 mins) the shrimps sit in the lime, the more creamier and soft they will be. Past 2 hrs or so they become harder and more chewy. In my photos you will see a molcajete with freshly made ceviche. That is what fresh ceviche is supposed to look like. When I was dissatisfied with the quality of the food I went and bought my own, went home and made it myself. I didn't do that in the first place because I was running out of time. Ended up having to resort to that to satisfy my craving. I will still continue to come here, but will always turn down out of date food. New owner? I don't know.
Ceviche * Service **
Date ? I order A LOT OF SEAFOOD! My family and I usually order a small shrimp ceviche which is enough appetizer, when you dine in for about 4 full tostadas. We ordered to go and literally got less then a cup. Enough for 1 tostada. They said its supposed to be 16 oz. See the picture and tell me that's 16 oz. I had to negotiate with 1 manager to get an (proper serving) order in the future and when I thought all was said and done, it wasn't. I spoke to a different manager over the phone and placed my order along with the food they owed me, she called me back as I was on my way and said there wasn't any notes saying they owed me an order. $16.00 plus tax just lost.
Ceviche * Service *
5/15/2024 We have been dining in at least 3 times a month. For my taste, they have the freshest seafood around. The seasoning and herbs used in their dishes are arguably the best around. From the Ceviche to the Camarones a la diabla they are on my top 5 in the surrounding Chicagoland area. I do occasionally have to remind them that we are regulars when it's a new waiter because we order the same dishes and sometimes the cook is lazy. We didn't see avocado 🥑 in our order of Ceviche this time around and when I asked them to bring some they tried to charge me. I had to remind them that in the picture it shows that it comes with the dish. He agreed and said that it comes to taste. They don't put it on unless the customer asks but that's not true because every order we have they put the avocado on it without us asking. They were also careless on chopping our veggies. See pic of onion and tomato. I thought the tomato was moldy. All in all it's a great place to eat but sometimes they can be careless. Check your food before you leave and just make sure you get what...

We had a party of 5 on Saturday at 5pm. We waited about 10 minutes just to get water brought to us. Instead of the typical complimentary chips and salsa we received a dollop of ceviche with 4 tostada shells in a bag. Again, we're a party of 5. So we shared the shells.
Everything we were looking at on the menu had a sticker covering the price saying "market price". So it was impossible to know the prices of what we were looking at.
My friend requested a refill on the complimentary ceviche and tostada shells as service was taking forever.
My basic small margarita was $14. I ordered steak nachos from the menu and was told that they do not have nachos even though they're clearly on the menu. I then settled on 2 steak tacos with just cheese and sour cream on flour tortillas. My tiny tacos as well as my friends came out on corn tortillas. I also did not receive the sour cream.
Quite awhile later the server came back with the sour cream. It was literally like a gravy boat of sour cream for my 2 tiny tacos. We informed him that we ordered flour tortillas. By the time we received our correct order the rest of our party had finished eating.
When the bill arrived I found out that they charged me nearly $3 for the sour cream I asked for on 2 tacos. My basic small margarita and 2 tacos with sour cream ended up costing about $30.
After we had all finished our meal, that's when the refill of "complimentary" ceviche and tostada shells arrived. They also charged us for that. We had requested that nearly an hour ago before our food arrived and now that we were finished no one wanted it.
Very early in our experience the mariachi band arrived and set up directly in front of our table. As in touching our table, could not get out of our seats. We were unable to have a conversation during dinner because it was so loud.
Save yourself the money and aggravation and go literally anywhere else. Horrible experience from start to finish.

Read moreVisited this place 3-3-2023 around 830pm. When we walked in we were greeted and immediately given a table. We waited about 20 minutes and we’re in the verge of leaving because we hadn’t been approached by a bus boy or waiter/waitress. Finally a bust boy approaches us but walks to any empty table, grabs the salsa, tortillas and slaw and drops it off at our table. I must have given him a look of disgust and he noticed be cause he stopped in his tracks and asked if that was ok and I told him absolutely not. He went to the kitchen and grabbed a fresh one and brought it back to our table. I don’t think he spoke fluent English but he understood enough. 10 minutes after that our waiter came, we placed an order for a pitcher of regular margaritas, a cucumber margarita, chicken enchiladas and chicken fajitas. My best friend enjoyed her cucumber margarita but I have to say that I didn’t really enjoy the pitcher of margarita as I had hoped. It felt like it was missing a pretty key ingredient and maybe it was because it was a pitcher, I’m not too sure but it was missing something significant to taste like a lime margarita. It was strong though since we added the don julio reposado. The food was hot and fresh, taste good no complaints there at all. Only complaint besides the wait and the initial experience was that the windows they sat us next too were pretty drafty. In fact when this place used to be Benagains, it used to feel just as drafty as it did this day so I assume nothing has changed about this part of the dining experience this building. I think the food is overpriced but I think the portions are very good. It they good get consistently good flavors on their margaritas I would not have a Problem changing my review. Our waiter didn’t do a poor job but he was never around when we needed him or needed something so we had to ask the bus boy or other waiters to grab him or to fulfill a request that we had. I would go back again for drink. Looked like we had also just missed the Mariachi, maybe they...
