What we got: 1 large stuffed pepperoni, sausage, beef (missing extra pepperoni and bacon) 1 large stuffed tons of jalapeño with some pineapple, missing mushroom (update below)
Typically I’m cool, calm and collected. Tonight, less. I’m hungry, this pizza said it was ready via the app and wasn’t ready until 40 minutes later. My husband comes home with the pizza, the order is entirely wrong. Dude, we pay extra to have extras and as a family on a budget, this is just disappointing. Half the sauce isn’t really on the pizza. Half the ingredients we paid for are missing. 8 people were standing in the restaurant waiting with my husband. This was a huge waste of time and only one kid in our family of five is eating. I understand a rush but cmon. And to top it off, when i called to see if they could remake it, the phone just kept getting placed on hold. They’d pick up, press hold. My husband said when he was there, there wasn’t anybody answering the phones. I was so excited to have Papa John’s, this location was great last time and we rarely go here because it’s pretty out of the way for us but it was good a couple months ago. Tonight, what a bust.They probably need more staff. They might need help with scheduling to make sure they have product. I feel bad for even mentioning it but this absolutely affected our evening and experience and I’d be so much more upset if this was for a party.
Update: I did end up eating 1 slice. I did find mushrooms, they were hidden under extra cheese which we appreciated but still the ratios were off. There was also sauce but it was weird amounts of ingredients, sauce and cheese.
I asked my husband about the environment, he said they were under staffed for sure. He said someone mentioned that it would be another 10 minutes when he arrived but it was over 30 minutes wait. He mentioned that was said to everyone. He said it was clean but especially busy. My husband called and asked for a credit or remake. The manager, Mary, told him to give back the entire pizza. Our daughter already took 2 slices (she is under 5 and would not understand) and my husband stated so. She literally told him to "not get mouthy with her". My husband said he was going to just go there and talk in person. She called back crying and said that the pizza was coming and she was sorry. No pizza from mistake pizza necessary.The pizza driver came back and demanded for the pizza and when my husband handed a slice to the driver said,"Oh that's it. I don't want it. Mary said you were swearing at her." With the attitude I sensed I told him we don't want the pizza for all we know you spat on it.He insisted and we took it to get him off our steps. My husband asked Mary if there's something wrong and she said she was going to fire the delivery driver and we are good. Umm..ok? So then Gus called. He is the owner and tried to tell my husband that he was in control of the phone conversation. My husband thought by then it was hilarious because we didn't call him. Apparently Mary and delivery boy called him 4xs saying we were mean. Gus said they were not paid enough and didn't deserve this. My husband agreed that they were not paid enough and should be able to handle one mistake on a pizza topping. Gus then said to keep his cell in case we do order again. weird. So driver shows up demands for what’s left of the wrong pizza back I go and get him a slice. Offer it to him he refuses to take it. I call store Hi manager lady was ur guy supposed to take this pizza cause he asked for it. She says no I said ok are we good she says her fine.
A few minutes later the owner Gustavo Espinosa calls me telling me he was gonna control this phone call and complains to me about how it’s just pizza and how he should not have been called 4xs. I explained the about his manager being rude how I asked for credit or remake. He said the staff is under paid and shouldn’t be treated this way. I agree don’t mess up the toppings. If you do make it right don’t bother the owner.
