The food is delicious, inventive, fresh, and unlike the basic taco shop with stale beans and even more stale personality. The employees at this Fuzzy's are energetic, friendly, and patient when you take a century to order like I do. The place is often busy centrally located near the college greek housing, so the atmosphere is hopping with music, laughter, and an endless flow of drinks and chips. They offer free limes and lemons to freshen up your water. . My two favorites are the tempura fish tacos and the brisket nachos. The feta cheese can sound scary at first, but believe me, you'll wonder why you haven't had this before. I love it!
The queso is addictive The guac is good, better than competition in town, but not the best south texas made by pure hispanic abuelas with chunks of fresh jalapeno firing up your mouth to where you squeal in delight. It's just on the "Mmm, that's pretty good guac!" level. I always order it, love it, write here, but not home about it. You cannot go wrong starting off with the chips (specially seasoned with magic), queso, and guac.
They serve breakfast, but I've never tried it. They also have Oreos Churros which are straightforward - fried oreo sticks. The menu is expansive and flavorful, however they have some basic dishes for people who don't really care for Mexican and wonder why their friends/family always drag them to these places.
The prices are reasonable and you can eat there for less than $10. I tend to get nachos, and tacos, and extras...about $15 at that point. The drinks come in plastic cups refillable for .99 cents after your first purchase, so remember to bring it back. They're not out of the world expensive if you forget a...
Read moreMy girlfriend wanted some tacos, so we came here the other evening. I have a odd food allergy which makes eating at some places difficult for me. They were really good, very cool about stuff and made sure what I wanted would be safe for me.
We both loved our taco’s. I had the mahi mahi one, and my gf got the beef fajita one. Both excellent. The service was fantastic and friendly and there is a great ambiance/ look to the place. It’s also clean which is nice.
The only SINGLE negative I will say … their “hotter” hot sauce, not very hot! But the normal hot sauce , while even less hot tastes really really good.
Great visit, definitely will return when I have guests wanting that taco fix.
The men and women working there last night were working hard, super polite and extremely friendly. If the owner ever reads these I hope they let their staff know how well they are doing.
Update! In the past year I've been here several times usually with out of town guests. Yet to have anything but excellent meals...
Read moreMy wife and I went to our first Fuzzy's in Dallas last year and have been craving it every since. I bought my wife a new car last week and since it was her birthday that day, I asked if she wanted to go to Fuzzy's. She asked where one was and I said closest was in Stillwater about an hour and a half away. It was worth it! We've only been to two now but the quality was on point. The service excellent! We didn't talk about what we would order on the way and surprisingly they were similar. The battered fish tacos and shrimp tacos with refried beans and cilantro and lime rice. Portions perfect and my wife said the margarita was good 👍 I didn't get one (had to drive back) but it was well worth it. I did get a bottle of the Fuzzy's Butt Burning sauce to take home 🌶️😎 So until we get back I get a little reminder of how good...
