Bought a chocolate covered canoli from here. I expected the filling to have ricotta cheese, but it didn't. It was very disappointing!! I buy a canoli for the delicious ricotta filling. It was filled with a chocolate whip cream with chocolate chips on the ends. Then the girl who checked me out told me the wrong total. It's not on the screen, so I trusted what she told me. They emailed me my receipt because I was a previous customer. The total was more than what I had been told. The receipt asks for feedback on your experience. They responded to my feedback saying "sorry for your experience, but we don't understand the misunderstanding with the total. The screen shows the price for each item and then the total at the end..." With the screen being a certain size and the customer being asked if they want to give a 10, 15, 20, custom, or no tip, you can't see the total in that screen. That response shocked me because of how rude it sounded. The tone was that they didn't care so why ask for my feedback in the first place. We don't understand the misunderstanding? They went on the defense pretty fast. Well they lost a customer, a Stoneham resident, that was bringing their desserts to another city with potential new customers. Ordered a strawberry shortcake for my husband’s Birthday. I specifically said to the woman who took the order to make sure it’s the strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream. She replied that they only use whip cream on their shortcakes. Paid for the cake in advance and my husband picked up on Sunday (2/17). When I opened the box to put on the table I was completely disappointed as the frosting was not whipped cream at all. My husband was too. We have ordered shortcakes from here several times for several years and they were always good. I called today and asked for the owner who was not in. I looked at my email receipt; low and behold the woman that took my order incorrectly entered into the computer as a Birthday cake (not strawberry shortcake). The woman on the phone asked how they can make it right. I told her I wasn’t looking for anything in return or for free. I told her the only thing I would like was a call back from the owner as he should know. She said she would tell him. No call back as of today 2/18. Not sure if he will even get the message.

Disappointed.......I 've been going here for over 20 years at least 5 times a year for my birthday cakes and unfortunately will have to go elsewhere after today. I called the day before to order a cake but got a message they were on vacation which is understandable.......so I called back today to order a cake and was told you have to call 24 hours in advance. I said I tried to call the day before but you were closed on vacation. No offer of an already made cake until I asked about it. I said I want "Happy Birthday Christina" written on it professionally by the baker. She said we can't write on it until it is paid for. So I asked if I could pay over the phone and she said yes but there is a $dollar surcharge!!! I said fine and stressed I wanted neat and professional writing.
