Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Stroud Township

I’ve never had an enjoyable visit to this location. Here’s a break down of my last order. I placed an online order for two smoothies. Nothing too complicated. It says it will be ready to pick up at 4:04. I go in at 4 o’clock hoping it would be done a little early when I walk in there is nobody in line to order or waiting for an order. I take a seat and wait for my order to be placed in the online order cubby. There is one worker wrapping up a smoothie which turned out to be one of mine. I then watch her fill the remaining smoothie into a kids cup and then try to pour what may have been a scoop of protein into it and stir it with a straw. She does this for about a minute over the sink before realizing that the protein will not mix in and throws the whole thing out. Two other workers are standing at the drive-through counter talking about how Amazon can open up their garage door and how that’s creepy. I wait until 4:07 before someone comes to the counter and asks if I’ve been helped and when I tell them I’m waiting for an online order, she grabs them off the drive-through counter and hands them to me. My go to but had a horrible experience today. I went in at around 5PM and it was mostly young workers. The girl behind the counter was giving me nasty looks and going back and forth with her co worker on who was going to take my order. She takes my order and I ask for my usual smoothie but a kids sized. She started laughing and judging me that I asked for a kids sized, I was just in the mood for a small size today…. After her nasty tone and judgement I did not tip her. Which lead to her getting more frustrated and I got more nastier looks. She said something to her co worker and I’m pretty sure it was about me since they both turned around and looked at me. I felt so uncomfortable and was so close to just walking out. I don’t normally do in store orders but had to that day since the app wasn’t working. And because of this...

I’ll start off by saying this place is a blessing to have nearby. We’ve been needing a smoothie place FOREVER. AND the smoothies are fire? Double smash. I’ll be coming here pretty often. Downloaded the app and everything.

I tried the Kiwi Quencher and Mango magic. Both were delicious. Tried the Baja wrap and Thai chicken wrap and both were bangin. Baja if you like a lot of sauce and Thai chicken if you like a lot of veggies. The jalapeño corn was just the right amount of spicy and the kale apple slaw was AWESOME. Overall great healthy options.

There being a drive thru is 10/10. If you get off late from work, THEY’RE OPEN. It’s fantastic for those of us who are young and might need some fuel at night to get by. Drive thru attendant had a great attitude. Overall very grateful for this spot and the quality of the food...
