Tropical smoothie cafe — Restaurant in Stroud Township

I want to share a heartwarming experience at Tropical Smoothie, store: 361 Charles Way, Stroudsburg, PA. The promotions allowed a second free smoothie with the purchase of a meal or full-price smoothie, and I used this to be a ripple of kindness for one week, hoping to be a small miracle in others’ lives.

On day one, I gave a smoothie to Julie, a middle-aged woman with car troubles and low energy. She returned to thank me for the boost. On day two, I gave a smoothie to Samantha, a 20-year-old mourning her father, hoping to lift her spirits while respecting her privacy. Day three, I gave a smoothie to Angela, who had alerted campus police that my headlights were on, saving me from a stressful rainy day. Day four, I gave a smoothie to Mike, a gentleman with the sweetest morning smile, hoping to return that joy. Day five, I gave a smoothie to Haley, who helped me track down Angela. On my way to work, I accidentally dropped my own personal smoothie but left smiling, reminded that small acts of kindness matter.

The staff member who made this possible was Gigi, whose sweet disposition and excellent service inspired me. I think the store manager could let other staff shadow her to learn from her example.

I usually come to tropical smoothie cafe, no matter where I go their food & smoothies are a hit. I refer my friends & family & I typically come to this location. The past few times I’ve came to this location the food, service, & efficiency has been TERRIBLE. I waited an hour for my food, my wrap was made incorrect 2x, smoothies were watered down to the point you could swish it back & forth like liquid, not like an authentic smoothie. The (I believe manager) was on her phone texting as there were customers in the lobby waiting on their food. The food was brought out separate so the employees were confused as to what else was left to serve. There was another lady who had been in the store for an hour before me, as well as another lady waiting for 30mins just for a quesadilla. The employees were haphazardly running around trying to ask people what they were missing for their orders, due to giving people one smoothie, one food order, etc. I had received my wrap (made incorrectly), my bag of chips, & my friend had received his smoothie (watered down). Then we waited an HOUR to get our food & my smoothie which was also watered down. Very disappointed with the service, smoothies, & accommodations I’ve received not just this time, but the past few times I have come to this location. I won't be back...
