We have only once been to 5 Guys once many years ago. I had a craving for fries and was working online and thought of them. Holy cow was I happy I took my daughter and I there for our meal and not Mulligans because I have never, ever had a more satisfying double cheese burger with many delicious FREE toppings. My daughter had the double bacon. We bought a large FF and all to go. The guy taking our order was fine but I was aware of the kitchen and the guys yelling out the orders and working like they do on a good episode of Hell's Kitchen. Our meal was ready fairly quickly. They thanked us, and everyone who was both arriving and leaving which was a very wise and courteous thing to do making everyone feel happy, because I heard the people in front of us comment on that point.
When we got home, I laughed at the insane amount of fries we received. They tasted delicious and had a light crisp to them with tender centers. I had a stupid amount of them, bathed in balsamic vinegar, as did my daughter. I would say I ate at least half the order and my daughter had some but quit and around a quarter of the order or less and she is a skinny 17 year old who eats more than me normally. She loved her burger as did I love mine.
My conclusion is this was the best value you could get and we chilled in front of the TV talking and laughing around 2pm as a result of our being so satisfied and happy making for a great day. We both passed out for a nap too due to those bad boys. I still have half of my sandwich left because my want was for the fries which they nailed perfectly and the amount was so incredible.
Better to not eat fast food or most restaurant items nearby for burgers and just go here on occasion.
Thank you. Totally fantastic deserving of...
Read moreStopped in en route home from work today, convenient as I was picking up ice cream from my landlord's Coldstone next door. Thought it would be quick. I was wrong.
My order was placed at 2:35pm. Cashier called for the patty... and I waited. One girl was waiting in front of me. Somehow 3 people ordered & got served before I did. Had to ask, was told "oh, your order's right here"... 15 minutes later. No apology for the wait. Apparently annoyed that I'd asked, her mannerisms gave the impression she thought me impatient. And yet 2 more people were served when I was at 2:54.
Straw wrappers on the floor. Greasy feeling to the chairs/floor. Kitchen area was dirty. Counters were messy & dirty. Had planned on eating in. Atmosphere kept me from it.
Order ahead food was made & sometimes placed on top the fryer. Sometimes on the counter next to it. Said counter was dirty -salt & grease. Not encouraging towards the 'order ahead' feature.
There were 4-5 people working. Kept coming from the back room. Only 1 guy was in the kitchen most the whole 20 minutes I was there. He looked ready to leave. But at least he was respectful & said "thank you" when I picked up my order. Getting him some help would be my recommendation to upper management.
Bacon was overcooked. Burger was too salty. Fries were half-undercooked (too soft), half-overcooked (too hard). Disappointing, considering the 5 Guys I was used to before moving here.
To the lady who says "it's only $2 more than other fast food joints for better quality"... Number 1, the burger alone here costs $2 more than getting a burger, drink & fries elsewhere. Number 2, the food today was not a good representation of 5 Guys. So, I...
Read moreThe first time i ate at 5 guys was in the Florida Keys on vacation. I assumed that they were a local specialty eatery. Imagine my surprise when i found out they had a location near me. I ordered a junior bacon cheeseburger with everything. Or was it with the works? Either way, it cane with ketchup, mustard, mayo, pickles, and every other thing you'd like to get on your burger. Except jalapeños. I don't want hot peppers on my burger. And, i ate peanuts while i waited for my order to be completed. Salted in the shell peanuts are available all you can eat. And i couldn't finish the french fries because there were so many. And the nice man must have called me sir three dozen times. I highly...
