Michelina's Italian Restaurant & Catering — Restaurant in Stuart

I read a review of the restaurant in the local paper and came away wanting to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, their hours are limited as they are only open for dinner 5 nights of the week. Upon entry, the decor was very bland and outdated with small Christmas lights in the ceiling. We were seated and our drink orders were promptly taken. We were then served with a complimentary order of 8 garlic knots. The newspaper reporter had noted that these were the best garlic knots she had eaten in the area and she was not wrong. They were soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside and easily able to sop up the garlic sauce. As an appetizer, we ordered the Michele Pizza. It was unique in the sauce was placed on top of the mozzarella cheese. The crust was perfect and the best part was the cheese did not roll off the pizza as it does at most pizza places. We placed our orders which came with a side salad or soup. We opted for the cream of garlic soup. Another home run. Perfectly seasoned soup with a hint of garlic that did not overpower the remainder of the soup. Our entre's came out. My son had the Chicken Parmesan, my daughter had the Chicken Alfredo, my wife had the Chicken Rollatini, and I had the special Chicken Scarpiento. All 4 dishes were delicious, but I was disappointed in the portion size for the price. For the same price, I get bigger portions at most restaurants. We finished our meal off by sharing the chocolate lasagna. This was the only dish that disappointed as it tasted like a French silk pie and was very overpriced at $7.99. The restaurant passed my first test as the food tastes good. I can put up with the decor and other small issues as long as the food is good. I was a bit reluctant to return based on the value, but I just visited their website and they apparently have a sunset (early bird) menu from 4-6pm with reasonable rates. Great service, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Prices similar to other places nothing out of the ordinary. Calamari was ok. Wouldn’t order again. One pasta dish, the uber amounts of garlic in it was so raw it was like eating a fresh garlic bulb. Pasta was good and cooked al dente. Chicken Parmesan was just ok, sauce was not good, not bad nothing really stood out. Broccoli rabe was so bitter it was not edible. Didn’t complain because all the servers were very nice and friendly. I can’t believe this place is a 4.7 on Google. Maybe the pizza or meatballs make this place not sure. If the review was based on the servers only I would say 4.7 is a realistic score.
