I will start this off by saying that I have generally had good experiences at this location, and today's experience wasn't completely a loss; I just wasn't COMPLETELY pleased. I came in and waited for a couple of minutes at the front because the cashier apparently was in the kitchen. As the cashier walks up, a young lady walks into the restaurant and occupies the register space beside me. The cashier allows this woman to cut in front of me, completely ignoring me at first. I started to say something, but did not want to make a scene, so I stopped myself. Then, when I ordered I asked for a Spicy Po' Boy (Haddock and Skrimp) and was told that the restaurant was out of Haddock. This is fine. I understand this and this particular fact is not the reason for my less than stellar rating. I instead ordered a Big Cat and Skrimp Po' Boy and a side. When I looked down at the order screen, I noticed that my Po Boy was indicated as being mild. I reiterated that I ordered a Spicy Po' Boy, to which I received the response that, "If you didn't ask, I wouldn't know." First of all, it is generally not a great idea to argue with customers. Secondly, and more importantly, I DID ask for a Spicy Po' Boy from the very beginning. The cashier apparently wasn't listening very well. So I found the comment somewhat rude. I will concede, however, that he may have been tired or exhausted, which is only human. Luckily, I received my food, fairly quickly, but when I checked the Sandwich, it had plenty of Shrimp (which was great), but not quite enough Catfish. The fish only filled about 2/3 to 3/4 of the bun. This, in and of itself, is not a huge deal, but on top of the somewhat lackluster customer service I received, it made me mildly upset. First time going here. I was super excited because of all the great reviews. I called in my rather large order and picked it up. A very nice gentleman customer even helped me carry some of my order to my car (thank you, sir). Ok, so I get home and look at what we received. One part of the order was the $40 family meal. The fries were way under cooked. We had to break out our deep fryer to finish them off. The chicken strips were way over cooked. Pretty much inedible. The catfish? Was it catfish? Couldn’t tell. It looked just like the chicken. At least the shrimp and macaroni and cheese were good. I also got a shrimp and fish meal, an order of fried okra and 2 orders of hush puppies (which were good, despite the extra grease) The okra and hush puppies were so greasy that by the time I drove from Suffolk to Windsor, the paper bag was soaked with grease. So, pretty much $70 down the drain. I wish I had thought to take pictures of everything, but after we tried to eat, my husband threw most everything in the trash. Don’t think we will be back. If we do decide to, I believe we will stick to the grilled options.
Edit 5/21/2020- I have spoken with the owner and he and I have agreed that the meal will be remade at a later time convenient for my family. He was very concerned and offered explanation/resolutions for all issues and reassurance that the issues would be taken care of. My mistake in not checking my order before leaving won’t be repeated. Read moreThe food is good when its good but management is very unprofessional. I come in at least a couple of times per week during my work break and one time I had a complaint about my food. My fries were very cold and I was missing 4 of the 8 shrimp in my order. The young cashier called the manager and the manager was very rude. She argued with me that she was positive that she put 8 shrimp in my order. She asked to check my bag which I didn't have a problem with as I come in all the time during the afternoon hours. She checked verified that I had only 4 shrimp and told me she would get me the rest of my shrimp. I though the problem was solved but then I could hear her in the kitchen talking loudly about me calling me names like lier and broke a** and accusing me of eating the other four shrimp. I was very upset but I kept my composure thanked her and went back to work. Only a few days later I came in with a simple question. I was told that anything on the menu could be grilled on previous visits so asked to have my oysters grilled but one of the cashiers was unsure if they could fulfill my request so she went to ask the manager. This same manager from the previous visit told me bluntly we dont do that and we've never done that. Which is fine I understand. But then again just like the previous visit you could hear her in the kitchen talking about me calling my request "nasty" and "weirdo" and calling me a weirdo. I love the food it's amazing but I might just have to come in later in the hours when this manager isnt on duty to get my food. She is very unprofessional and is going to end up driving...
