Well equipped and staffed visitor center with lots of brochures, arranged thoughtfully, and well organized. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming.
They have amazing tours wuth very reasonable prices. We took the historic downtown tour which lasted just over an hour. It was well narrated by Rachel and our capable driver Kevin maneuvered us easily and safely through some narrow spots. The tour was unhurried with plenty of time to view each spot from the air conditioned comfort of the mini bus. No walking involved.
Other tours are of the Cedar Hill Cemetery the Great Dismal Swamp, and a walking ghost tour. We plan to take another soon. We booked ahead. Discounts available for 60+, military, etc.
