Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in Suffolk

I MISS my Zaxby's. Years ago, this franchise was on point. Even though it's always been a bit slow on the orders and making food. I'm good w/ that as long as it's fresh. So, ever since Raising Cain's came to town, I have yet to go back to my fav chicken place, until tonite. Please know this is coming from person that would fly into Atlanta and get an uber to take me to zaxbys in between my connecting flights. It truly was my favorite. It was always fresh and I love the dip sauce. But, the location in Hampton, VA has such horrible service, no doubt it's easy for Raising Cains to kill them on sales. Not having been to my Zaxbys since about 2020, I tried tonite but in a different location, in suffolk, VA off college drive. I thought perhaps they hired a quality control person to pick up the pace on the business. Upon entering the building, i wanted blow my nose so I went to the bathroom. After waiting about 5 mins for my guy to come out of the toilet stall, it was apparent since he was an employee w/ the work attire, he was simply hanging out on the phone in the toilet stall. He apologized to me once he noticed I was waiting to get to the toilet. SO, I ordered food, and long story short, the fries(which I asked for no salt) came out over cooked, you know when the grease has burned through the fry. I ordered a 4 piece tender plate, but I received 3 semi dry tenders and one half of a completely dry tender. it was horrible. All this to say; I want to spend my money here, but this franchise makes it hard to support. So, I guess I'm FORCED to drive to Raising Cains' because the food is 100% always fresh there. I've yet to have any issues w/ my food ever since I started going. PLEASE, zaxbys, can you clean up your act.... and your other locations, the one on Portsmouth BLVD is so dirty, the drive through needs a pressure wash from the dirt on the building. If outside is dirty, I wonder what the kitchen could look like. All this with love...

So since I went to Rasing Cane’s not to long ago I randomly decided to stop at Zaxby’s while on a road trip. Yep!! I saw the sign while in southern V.A., I got off the interstate, & got something slight…LET’S GO!! . Where I am: @realzaxbys . Location Reviewed: 6120 College Drive, Suffolk V.A. . Menu Includes: Chicken Fingers, Traditional Wings, Boneless Wings, Chicken Sandwiches, Salads, Fries, Fried Pickles, Cookies, Sauces, & Beverages!! . Items Reviewed: Their No.3 (With Tongue Torch sauced bone in wings, 3 plain strips, fries, butter toast, Zax sauce, & a large peach sweet tea $14.79). The bone in wings…DELICIOUS!! Meaty, mildly spicy, I just needed these cooked harder.

The Zax sauce…LIKE THAT!! I see what y’all mean now. Savory, & tangy I dipped everything in this sauce!!

The Strips…LIKE THAT!! With the sauce. DELICIOUS w/o the sauce.

The Bread, & Fries…LIKE THAT!! Surprisingly tasty (for fast food)!! Buttery bread, crispy fries!!

The Peach sweet tea…DELICIOUS!! It was definitely sweet sweet!!

Their Fried Pickles ($5). STAMP!! Again dipped in that sauce, with a crunchy breading on the pickles!!

Their Cheddar Bites (coated fried cheese $5). DECENT. Eat these fast…they harden quickly.

Their Caramel Funnel Cake (drizzled with caramel,& confectionery sugar $3.49). STAMP!! It’s the funnel cake from the carnival back in the day, plus caramel!! . Customer Service: On Point!! . I ordered 3 items on the app and went and pick it up . The bag was taped nicely thats why I did not check it up . This is supposed to be my sons dinner that is sick and when I opened it after 2 hours one item is missing its already around 6-7 PM and I called their number 4X it was ringing but nobody is answering the Phone . Next day I went in the restaurant to tell the supervisor that one of my order yesterday was missing . I showed her the reciept that was sticked to the bag and she told me that how come I did not call I told her I called but no one is answering the phone . She said that she was all night yesterday and the phone never rang so I showed her my recent calls in my phone and she still insist that I never called and ask a lot of questions. I was just standing there waiting if she will say she won’t refund or give me the item that is missing. So I ask her again whats going on if I can leave or not . She has an attitude that she said wait and I am making your sandwich she gave me the sandwich like she is so mad . I hope they will check into this so this won’t happen again .
