Extremely disappointed and rarely ever write bad reviews man, I was a regular there to get a smoothie and maybe a bite after the gym atleast once a week. I goto order and while im ordering for my takeout (spending near $40 just for myself), I ask for a cup of water. The employee which looks like the operators son just says "oh we dont have cups", clearly infront of me are plastic cups. Weird behavior man. Then doesn't have the guts to look me in the eye after i tell him theres cups infront of you. -Then I see the owner which sees me on a weekly basis and knows im a well paying patron. I tell him about his employee/sons behavior in a calm matter as I am an employer aswell, and he tells me "oh we only give water to paying customers, and he may have made a mistake". Sure but the dude clearly saw me ordering and ignored me anyways, and i tell the owner that in an extremely understanding tone. Soon after the owner serves me a cup of water, clearly unfiltered water and tasted like soap. Don't know if it was spiteful but I am not in a position to make that judgement, sure thanks for the tap water to your loyal customer. Im already 40 minutes into waiting for my wings, I see 2 kids run up to the counter and ask for water and they get ignored too lmfao. I dont even know them, but regardless I buy them a bottle of water because I'm not going to watch kids be thirsty in America of all places. Even me as a business owner, no matter how much is going on we give out waters (filtered or bottled at that). (we are a tech company lmfao). I finally get my food after an hour (literally an hr), then I get home and its bitter batter so they clearly dont clean the fryers throughout the day. Reusing the same oil over and over, whatever i even over look that. A cup of water costs your business maybe 5 cents? maybe .15 after labor? (assuming you pay staff 50k-60k a year). As a family operated business of all places this should be the last place that refuses to give out water, especially if you're adjacent to a gym and family park. Personally will take my business elsewhere finitely, godwilling yall change and improve after this review and begin that change in the future. It's principle, have business ethics and don't take offence,...
Read moreIf I could give 0 out of 10, I would but for now 1 out of 10 says enough I walked into Blendz and Bites in Richmond TX with high hopes. The staff gave a whole spiel about how they use “non-hormonal” chicken which apparently just means it’s “young.” It felt like an odd flex but I stayed open-minded. I ordered the Spicy Zinger Combo and the 2-piece Broast waited about 30 minutes for it to come out (way too long for what it was) and sat down to eat. That’s when I immediately noticed a terrible smell coming from the chicken. It genuinely smelled off like it wasn’t cooked properly or was going bad. I lost my appetite instantly. I brought this up to the lady at the counter. Instead of showing concern she got defensive right away. She kept repeating their chicken is “fresh and non-hormonal” like that somehow justified the bad odor. At one point she even smelled the chicken herself and said “It’s too fresh.” Like… what? Do you mean too raw? That’s not reassuring it’s concerning. She even admitted that other customers have complained about the same thing bad smell and even visible blood in the chicken but still insisted it was just a “personal taste” issue and not their problem. If multiple people are pointing it out maybe it’s time to actually listen. Undercooked chicken isn’t a quirky feature it’s a health risk She said I could get a refund so I brought both meals back. Only then did I find out it was just a partial refund with no heads-up. When I asked why she replied “I can’t refund you for something people eat here daily and do not have a problem with.” Honestly I didn’t come in to argue if the food wasn’t bad I wouldn’t have complained. To top it off they also added a random credit card surcharge which they don’t disclose upfront. I’ve never seen that happen in TX. With sales tax already in place this felt like a sneaky upcharge. The only good thing I can say is they have plenty of seating. But what’s the point if the food isn’t safe or enjoyable Bottom line Undercooked smelly chicken Defensive and dismissive staff Partial refund with no transparency Long wait time Surprise credit card surcharge Never going back and I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreCrispy perfection and melty goodness: A 10/10 dining experience. This place is a true gem and an absolute must-try. I've been craving a restaurant that nails the classics, and this spot delivered in a big way. From the broast to the burgers, every dish was on point, and I'm already planning my next trip back to explore the dessert menu. The broasted chicken and wings are the stars of the show. Each piece was perfectly crispy on the outside, with a satisfying crunch that gives way to juicy, tender meat. But the real showstopper? The fried bun. It's a game-changer—soft, slightly sweet, and the perfect rich accompaniment to the savory chicken. For the main course, I went with the melted burger on sourdough bread and it did not disappoint. The melted cheese was a gooey, flavorful dream, and the sourdough added a perfect tangy, chewy texture to the savory patty. A total win. My kid, a notoriously picky eater, absolutely devoured the waffle chicken, a testament to how good it was. The combination of the sweet, fluffy waffle and the crispy chicken was a genius pairing that had them asking for more. The only downside of the meal was being too full to try the desserts, but that's a problem I'm happy to solve. A return visit is definitely in order to experience what I'm sure will be a fantastic ending to a meal. Overall, if you're looking for a casual, delicious meal with exceptional fried food and creative twists on classics, you have to try this place. It's a solid...
