We saw that a new restaurant had opened where Lupitas had been and decided to give it a try. It was definitely the right decision. As it was going to be our first time, we decided to get an order to go. We ordered the chile con queso and beef fajitas quesadillas. We use these as a barometer to judge the quality of the restaurant. Both dishes were very good. The queso was not the standard yellow glop that many restaurants serve. It was a better quality. The beef in the quesadillas had definitely been marinated. We could taste the marinade but it was not overly marinated. The marinade also has a good flavor. The salsas had a good flavor. My wife tried both. She said the green is hotter than the red.
The restaurant has been totally remodeled. It does not resemble Lupitas in any aspect. I can see where it will become very popular once...

The shredded chicken enchilada with verde sauce was delicious. The sauce had a full-bodied meaty taste. The chicken inside the enchilada was moist. The tortilla was springy and not mushy. The charro bean tortilla dip had a nice smokey flavor. The cilantro cream tortilla dip was refreshing. The salsa was served at a nice warm temperature, but was a little mild in spiciness (I prefer mine a little spicier).
The wait staff was attentive, but not overbearing. The decor was neat and clean. The atmosphere was pleasant. The background music was not ear-splitting.
I would recommend this restaurant when you get a hankering for good TexMex...
Read moreWe have been here twice and have had a great experience both times. The enchiladas verdes were so good that I got them both times. The salsa verde is fabulous, the corn tortillas are tender, the beans and rice have excellent flavor. The tortilla chips are paper thin and fresh. A perfect pairing with their two salsas - roasted red salsa and a green salsa with medium heat. The queso blanco is a delicious twist on the usual yellow queso. Frozen margaritas are great and have great happy hour pricing ($3.99). I was hesitant to try out El Kiche after Lupitas closed, but it has now become a regular in our restaurant rotation. Highly highly recommend El Kiche for...
