I ordered the full nachos for $16!! as a pickup order. When I arrived at home I discovered that there was two rows of chips at the bottom of the foil tray with a very thin smear of beans just covering the tips of the chips, a sprinkle of fajita meat and about a table spoon of sour cream and guacamole. There must have been about 14 chips. Not sure if they skimped on the food because it was nearing closing time but if that's the case it should have been discounted. The amount of food should have cost about $5. I won't be ordering from here again. The photo shows the thin layer of beans. I had to add chips from the salsa to try and stretch it. Recently went back for dessert, ordered tres leches cake and churros. The cake was really soggy and the churros tasted like burnt grease. On top of that, each dessert costed over $9.

We were promptly seated and given chips and salsa, we ordered a queso to go along with the chips both were very good. Our server Daniel was exceptionally kind and informative, helping us pick out our menu items. He gave us suggestions and recommendations on Escalante’s most popular dishes and drinks. We had the watermelon Margarita and La Playa Margarita. We ordered the Escalante Especial and Guadalajara both very good dishes. The chicken was amazing in the Guadalajara. The sauce on top of the chicken enchilada was amazing and tasty. Everything on the Escalante Especial was also divine, from the rice to the grilled bacon wrapped shrimp, beef empanadas and beef enchilada, it was perfection. To complete our meal we had a flan for dessert which was creamy and succulent.

We had an absolutely amazing time dining here! From the moment we were seated, Alec made us feel like VIPs. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure our family had everything we needed without ever having to ask twice. The food was top tier — full of flavor, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Every dish hit the mark! And the drinks? Strong, delicious, and exactly what you want from a great Mexican spot. The atmosphere was lively, the service was next-level, and Alec truly went above and beyond to make our experience special. If you’re thinking about visiting, ask for Alec — you’ll be glad you did. This place is a must-visit, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

I wish there was a way to leave a 0 star review. My husband and I came to Houston from San Antonio for a concert, and were excited to try out a new restaurant. We came to the town square to walk around for a while and decided to try this restaurant. To start out the restaurant was really warm inside which wasn’t comfortable but we decided to stay anyways. We ordered the queso to start with the add ins of meat and poblanos, I ordered the pepper margarita and my husband ordered a beer. When they brought the queso they bring the add ins on a separate plate. I’m glad I ordered the add ins because the queso on its own was so watery and bland, so that helped a little bit. The salsa they bring with the chips tastes like it’s out of a can. My margarita was good, but the beer the server brought my husband was warm, it didn’t feel like it had even been in a fridge at all, and the server did not come back for so long to ask for a new one, so my husband had to take the ice from his water to put into the beer. When he did finally come back and my husband told him the last beer was hot and asked if he could bring him a cold beer even if it needed to be a different brand, the server didn’t apologize just said “I’ll see what I have”. We should have left at that point. My husband ordered the “burritos” Escalante and I ordered the Escalante especial. The burritos were really just rolled up tacos. The carne asada in it was good but that was it. They put the bland queso on it which ruined it. The Mexican rice had absolutely no flavor and the beans were awful as well. The Escalante especial was supposed to come with an empanada, but they forgot to bring it out, and when they finally did it was completely cold. The bacon wrapped shrimp were the only redeeming part in the meal. We barely saw our server the whole time, though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. To make it even worse, the food is over priced for what you get and the quality. Our bill was $86, for bland food, warm beer, and horrible service. I would gladly pay that price if the food was good or at least if the service was decent. I have never before written a bad review or felt compelled to do so but this was just so crazy to us, and horribly disappointing. I would highly recommend instead going down the road to Lupe Tortilla. We had brunch there today, the food was delicious, the drinks were great, the service was out sounding and the portions were fantastic, and our bill was only $42, though I would have happily paid the $86 for...

We’re out of towners visiting family in the area. They brought us here for lunch. My husband and I each ordered the Ensalada Fajita (Fajita Salad) with chicken. Oh. My. Word. It was delicious! All of us commented on how tender and flavorful the chicken was after our very first bite. Additionally, the basket of tortilla chips they brought us was just the perfect amount of warm and salty, and the salsa was clearly made from very fresh ingredients. Our son was extremely pleased with his Enchiladas Mariscos, and our daughter in law loved the Fajitas For One, a lunch special. Our server (I didn’t catch his name, sadly) anticipated our needs: refreshed our beverages, remembering what we were drinking, without being asked, quickly brought more salsa, all efficiently yet unobtrusively done. He gave us take out boxes, gave me a fresh iced tea in a to go cup, and bags to carry it all. All four of us would go back in a heartbeat. In fact, I’m sure we will. And I’d order the exact same salad again. Oh…. One more thing I noticed. When I asked the manager on my way out if I could get the rest of my iced tea in a to go cup, about three separate employees passing by offered to take care of it for me. I was impressed with that level of willing service. Actually, I was impressed with just everything about this place and the delicious food we...

Escalantes Sugar Land is a vibrant haven for lovers of Tex Mex cuisine. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience.

The staff, attentive and friendly, ensured that our every need was met throughout the evening, enhancing the overall enjoyment of our meal.

As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. We opted for the fajitas, a delightful medley of flavors and textures that left our taste buds dancing with joy. The combination of bacon-wrapped shrimp, beef, chicken, and sausage was a true feast for the senses, each bite bursting with savory goodness.

But the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the margarita flight. Each cocktail in the flight was expertly crafted, offering a unique twist on this classic drink. From tangy citrus to smooth tequila, each sip was a journey of flavor that perfectly complemented our meal.

In conclusion, Escalantes exceeded our expectations in every way. With its exceptional service, delicious food, and inviting ambiance, it's a place we'll be returning to again and again. Whether you're a fan of Tex Mex cuisine or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, Escalantes is not...
