I wish there was a way to leave a 0 star review. My husband and I came to Houston from San Antonio for a concert, and were excited to try out a new restaurant. We came to the town square to walk around for a while and decided to try this restaurant. To start out the restaurant was really warm inside which wasn’t comfortable but we decided to stay anyways. We ordered the queso to start with the add ins of meat and poblanos, I ordered the pepper margarita and my husband ordered a beer. When they brought the queso they bring the add ins on a separate plate. I’m glad I ordered the add ins because the queso on its own was so watery and bland, so that helped a little bit. The salsa they bring with the chips tastes like it’s out of a can. My margarita was good, but the beer the server brought my husband was warm, it didn’t feel like it had even been in a fridge at all, and the server did not come back for so long to ask for a new one, so my husband had to take the ice from his water to put into the beer. When he did finally come back and my husband told him the last beer was hot and asked if he could bring him a cold beer even if it needed to be a different brand, the server didn’t apologize just said “I’ll see what I have”. We should have left at that point. My husband ordered the “burritos” Escalante and I ordered the Escalante especial. The burritos were really just rolled up tacos. The carne asada in it was good but that was it. They put the bland queso on it which ruined it. The Mexican rice had absolutely no flavor and the beans were awful as well. The Escalante especial was supposed to come with an empanada, but they forgot to bring it out, and when they finally did it was completely cold. The bacon wrapped shrimp were the only redeeming part in the meal. We barely saw our server the whole time, though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. To make it even worse, the food is over priced for what you get and the quality. Our bill was $86, for bland food, warm beer, and horrible service. I would gladly pay that price if the food was good or at least if the service was decent. I have never before written a bad review or felt compelled to do so but this was just so crazy to us, and horribly disappointing. I would highly recommend instead going down the road to Lupe Tortilla. We had brunch there today, the food was delicious, the drinks were great, the service was out sounding and the portions were fantastic, and our bill was only $42, though I would have happily paid the $86 for...
Read moreWe’re out of towners visiting family in the area. They brought us here for lunch. My husband and I each ordered the Ensalada Fajita (Fajita Salad) with chicken. Oh. My. Word. It was delicious! All of us commented on how tender and flavorful the chicken was after our very first bite. Additionally, the basket of tortilla chips they brought us was just the perfect amount of warm and salty, and the salsa was clearly made from very fresh ingredients. Our son was extremely pleased with his Enchiladas Mariscos, and our daughter in law loved the Fajitas For One, a lunch special. Our server (I didn’t catch his name, sadly) anticipated our needs: refreshed our beverages, remembering what we were drinking, without being asked, quickly brought more salsa, all efficiently yet unobtrusively done. He gave us take out boxes, gave me a fresh iced tea in a to go cup, and bags to carry it all. All four of us would go back in a heartbeat. In fact, I’m sure we will. And I’d order the exact same salad again. Oh…. One more thing I noticed. When I asked the manager on my way out if I could get the rest of my iced tea in a to go cup, about three separate employees passing by offered to take care of it for me. I was impressed with that level of willing service. Actually, I was impressed with just everything about this place and the delicious food we...

The staff, attentive and friendly, ensured that our every need was met throughout the evening, enhancing the overall enjoyment of our meal.
As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. We opted for the fajitas, a delightful medley of flavors and textures that left our taste buds dancing with joy. The combination of bacon-wrapped shrimp, beef, chicken, and sausage was a true feast for the senses, each bite bursting with savory goodness.
But the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the margarita flight. Each cocktail in the flight was expertly crafted, offering a unique twist on this classic drink. From tangy citrus to smooth tequila, each sip was a journey of flavor that perfectly complemented our meal.
