I've seen this concept of dessert on social media and knew in my heart (and belly) that I had to try it.
It's cake baked in the shape of a cone or "chimney", stuffed with soft serve ice cream and various toppings. There are pre-made options to choose from (with some flexibility) and build-you-own option (there is a charge for additional toppings/fixings). The baking/heating process is the most time consuming part, ensuring it is baked to perfection to hold the ice cream. They were flexible in switching certain items (instead of cocoa pebbles, I chose oreo crumbs).
Originally, I went online to check the menu so I know ahead of time. I ordered the fashionista, I enjoyed the different chocolate flavors. I was curious to try the matcha one, but when in doubt, go the chocolate route. It truly was a massive amount of sweet to eat and I would preferred to have shared with someone, but it really isn't shareable...not in a sanitary way. It was definitely very pretty...all of them are/were.
They wear gloves (thank goodness) when handling the cones. However, I noticed the girl (while waiting for my cone to bake) went on her phone, adjusted her pants, her hair, her sleeves. So I kindly asked her to change her gloves when making Fashionista, luckily she was nice and did change.
The inside of the establishment is very cute and pink, definitely instagram-worthy. There is plenty of parking available on the side of the building, shared by other businesses.
Would I return? Maybe...only because it was more of a once-and-done thing for me....unless I am in the area and have a...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of trying the Shake Bananatella at House of Chimney, and it was an incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The Shake Bananatella is a delightful blend of banana and Nutella that takes classic flavors to a whole new level. The shake is perfectly creamy and thick without being overly heavy. The balance of sweetness from the bananas and the rich, chocolatey notes of Nutella makes the shake incredibly indulgent yet refreshing. What I particularly loved was how generous they were with the toppings. The whipped cream was light and airy, and there were pieces of fresh banana and drizzles of Nutella on top that added a wonderful texture to every sip. It’s clear that they use high-quality ingredients, which really shines through in the flavor. Not only did I enjoy it on its own, but it also pairs wonderfully with their delicious pastries. This shake is perfect for a warm day or as a sweet treat any time of year. If you're a fan of banana or Nutella (or both!), you absolutely have to try the Shake Bananatella at House of Chimney. It's truly a sweet, satisfying experience that I can't wait...
Read moreLocated alongside the road, the ice cream parlor is easily missed if you drive too fast. There are two small parking lots available on the sides of the small strip mall.
The shimmering wall, clean and spacious interior of the ice cream parlor are very welcoming. The menu is mind-blowing. There are so many choices, and everything look so good. If only I have ten stomachs in one body… Ultimately I chose the CookieButter Dream, and the wild strawberry soft serve.
The CookieButter Dream was scrumptious. It looked beautiful too! The salted caramel sauce was lined in the chimney cake which went well with the vanilla bean ice cream. The chimney cake was good. It was soft like doughnuts. Delicious. The vanilla bean ice cream had the right sweetness. However the vanilla bean ice cream didn’t have specks of vanilla bean which made me questioned if it was really vanilla bean ice cream. The strawberry soft serve was tart because it is vegan (as told to me by the staff). The strawberry soft serve was still a delight.
The staff were really patient with me. They explained the menu to me when I told them it was my first time at the parlor. I would go back to try other items...
