Crème Brûlée UBE Milk was divine… until disrespect ruined everything. I was ready to give 5 stars. I even posted my glowing review. But right before I left — something happened that changed my mind completely.
After finishing my drink, I tried to return a laptop charging cable to the sweet associate who had kindly lent it to me earlier. She was no longer at the counter, so I politely asked the current shift associate if she could return it to the person from the last shift.
She hesitated so I spoke in Chinese thought I overheard them talking in Chinese. She called a guy from the back, so he came out — tall with glasses. I repeated the request in Chinese, assuming he might have overheard or understood (because I thought I’d heard him speaking it earlier).
What I got back? A cold, condescending glare and: “I don’t speak your language.”Snapped at me, with attitude.
Let’s be very clear: I didn’t assume, I didn’t demand, I wasn’t rude. I spoke Chinese only because I genuinely thought they were speaking it. When I realized I was wrong (turned out he’s Vietnamese), I immediately thanked the current girl in English (who did understand Chinese and start speaking with me happily) and left without causing any fuss.
But here’s the thing: ➡️ I don’t tolerate disrespect — especially not at the counter of a hospitality business. ➡️ It doesn’t take much effort to say “Sorry, I don’t speak that language” in a polite way. ➡️ The tone this man chose? Was dismissive, sharp, and unnecessary.
And that was it. My whole mood shifted. My glowing experience dimmed. My five-star review? Downgraded.
There are plenty of The Alley shops around. I’ll still enjoy my UBE Crème Brûlée Milk — but never at this location again. And I’m gonna show u what I write prior to this with a Five Star ⭐️ rating.
UBE Crème Brûlée Milk is 🥳INSANE — dessert in disguise, not your average drink. Boba texture? Chef’s kiss. Eggy crème brûlée vibes? Divine. This isn’t a tea break — it’s a full-blown love affair in a cup.
I’ve known The Alley as a national milk tea icon, but today I stumbled upon the Sugar Land location post-lunch and decided to treat myself. The menu nearly defeated me — too many top contenders — but the associate (with sparkle eyes and good taste) steered me toward the UBE Crème Brûlée Milk.
And oh. my. god. It’s not a drink. It’s not a dessert. It’s that magical place in between. The intense eggy richness of the crème brûlée? Real. No powdery shortcuts. Just smooth, deep, custardy perfection — and the ube flavor didn’t just show up, it owned the cup.
Their boba pearls are on the firmer side — just how I like it. Chewy, energetic, satisfying. Like a stress ball you get to eat.
Now let’s talk space: ✨ Clean. ✨ Organized. ✨ Plenty of workstations. You could bring your laptop, your friends, or your existential crisis.
BUT: • 🔊 Music is a little too hype for deep work sessions. • ☀️ Afternoon sun is INTENSE. Zero window shades. I had to hide in the corner like a melting vampire. 👉 Note to owner: throw us a shade or two, please.
Bonus: they have a tiny claw machine with plushies, and I loved that little surprise. Even better? One of the staff lent me her own laptop cable when mine died — pure kindness, no hesitation
✅ Drink quality: EXCEPTIONAL ✅ Service: Heartwarming ⚠️ Space vibe: Cute but slightly chaotic for work 💯 Would I return? To The Alley? Always. To this exact location? Maybe earlier in the day.

One of the employees helped me out a lot named Tracy. They helped guide me through the order and told me a good drink like the nitro cold brew coffee..
Nitro cold brew coffee half sugar less ice : 9/10 good drink for energizing you and it’s not too bitter and not too sweet. I like it because it had salted cheese foam.
Royal milk tea number nine less sugar less ice: 8/10: it taste like rose milk, tea, but it has blueberries. It’s pretty good I would get this if I’m in the mood for milk tea
Strawberry passionfruit, green tea less ice full sugar9/10 : I like the passionfruit and the lychee jelly that comes with it. It is a refreshing drink.
Passion, fruit, green tea, regular sugar, regular ice 8/10 : it’s not as good as the teaTop drink, but I think it’s a very good choice in the Sugarland area for passion for green tea. You tell that the passionfruit is fresh and it’s nice not too sweet and not too sour.
Mango green tea no ice half sugar 7/10: the mango is not that good
Strawberry mango sparkling green tea full sugar full ice: 5/10 : if you’re looking to drink a lot of...
Read moreI visited The Alley i think that lastweek with friend and had an excellent experience that turned my tough day around, i dont have the pics of my drinks, i forgot. The new drink was outstanding, the staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, and the thoughtful gift added a special touch. The atmosphere is so cozy and charming, with cute decorations and a chill vibe that’s perfect for hanging out with family or friends. I also want to thank both of them for being so accommodating and staying open late, welcoming us in just closing time.I apologize for arriving so close to closing, but the staffs even stayed a little longer (i feels so bad) to make all the new drinks for me. and I absolutely love the drink so so much. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home, and I’ll definitely be a loyal fan of The Alley. Lastly, i’m so grateful that The Alley in Sugarlnd is near my workplace, and i’ll definitely be coming back frequently . Thank you for brightening my day…I can’t wait for my next...
